Free agent center Zydrunas Ilgauskas will remain with the Cavaliers. Ilgauskas intends to sign a five-year deal worth between $55 and $60 million on July 22, the first day free agents can sign. Ilgauskas is the second free agent to agree to a deal with the Cavs. Washington Wizards guard Larry Hughes intends to sign a deal with the Cavs worth between $65 and $70 million dollars.

No sugar coating what so ever. This a very significant no matter how you look at it. We get our big offensive presense that will enhanse the oppotunities of LeBron and Hughes. On a side note this helps big time our pursuit of Saruanus. I cant see any downside.

Thank God. Z is the best were gonna get at Center this year, and now he should be able to retire with the Cavaliers the way it should be. All we need now is a PG and were all set for 05-06. Now Martynas can learn under a fellow Lithuanian and be the next Z for us. Very happy to see this signing, relief is a good word for it. Lebron should be happy about this, the franchise is definatly moving in the right direction.

According to my math, the first year of the deal could be as little as about $8.9 mil for a 55 mil contract, or as much as $9.7 mil for a 60 mil contract. That gives a 10.5% raise each subsequent season. So we should still have around 6-7 mil left if the deal is indeed structured this way.
