Z's ankle?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Here's the latest from the Plain Dealer (column on Wally). Doesn't sound like Z will be back on Weds, but good to hear he's starting to do basketball drills:

Injury updates: The Cavs had a no-contact practice on Monday, so there we no official updates on the status of Zydrunas Ilgauskas (sprained left ankle) or Daniel Gibson (sprained left big toe.)

"I feel OK," Ilgauskas said. "It feels better every day. The swelling went down. For the first time today I did basketball drills a little bit. We don't really have a date for a return. We're just going to treat it day-to-day and see how it feels."

It's against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Z won't need to be back. The Cavs will be hungry for another W, and I'm fully expecting Lounge Chair Lebron for the 4th quarter.

(Of course, I have been known to be wrong once or twice before, but I don't see it happening here)

Wolves looked like a half-decent team for 3 quarters on the road against the Lakers, then fell apart due to some inexperienced mistakes. But it's true that Z is not needed in terms of matching up against the T-Wolves. They are a small team, although Jefferson plays a little bigger than he is.

Cavs might as well hold Z out until Dec. 23 against Houston. They should be able to handle Minn. and OKC without him. It would be nice to have him available for the Denver game but it makes more sense to try to get him closer to 100% and not have the injury linger. It's better to think long term.

we shouldnt' need Z against the twolves, but their center is their best player....

good find...sounds good that Z is healing but i dont want him to play our next game...we still have wright who has height and can play solid d so we are still ok

doesn't sound like he couldn't play against the wolves but he probably won't. Should be back for Denver. All is good in cavsland

Am I wrong or have the Wolves beat some good teams, and even taken the Celtics well into the 4th? They beat Detroit, right? They are the ones that got Tony Parker that huge game through overtime. I think they fall into the category of respect them, just in case. We can't get too cocky.

They gave the Lakers a run for awhile the other day too...

The Wolves got pretty much demolished tonight. They are up and down from game to game and within games. But there are some talented players on the floor. Miller can still rain 3s, Foye will have a great game now and then, and Jefferson is pretty consistent (and will be a tough matchup for Wallace). Cavs have to take advantage of the fact that T-Wolves make mistakes and turnovers at the worst possible times and rarely sustain runs. Their half-court offense is not as good as their transition offense, like most teams. Kevin Love recently looks pretty much like a struggling rookie.

All that said, I look forward to a competitive game.

Z and Boobie planning to play Friday...

I think both would be playing if it were playoff time, but, it's not. Z will likely get the nod on Friday, but, from what I'm hearing Boobie is more iffy... they may wait for his problems to continue to tone down.

I hope we can be full strength, but, am in doubt on Boobie. Of course he wants to go, but, he might get voted down by the training staff.
