2017-2018 Around the NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Luc Mbah a Moute posted the highest on court +/- ever (going back to 2001 from when we have play-by-play data) tonight against Denver at +57. Joe Smith had the previous high with a +52 against Chicago in 2001.

OKC has an enormously impressive peak game (I’ll wait until they play about 25 games, but its ability to win dominant quarters is reminiscent of 65-67 win type teams) and that’s why I never thought they would implode. I posted about it earlier.

Everything Cavs Thread: New Season Edition

Its bench is trash, but in the playoffs, OKC should have two of thr three on court at all times although not sure how much of a positive Melo is on many nights. But the defense is really good, and if Westbrook gets comfortable being the same lead player he’s been used to, this team can really be something.

The problem is that this team could win a title in most years, but it’s still not good enough to beat the Warriors.
I still think this was another big reason why LeBron wanted Wade here. Because just in case OKC figured out them having Wade off the bench would have made them scarier.

Memphis with the soul crushing loss to Dallas.

They led 56 to 39 at half.

They were down 5 with around a minute to go.

They end up going ahead by 2 with 0.5 seconds left on a putback... only to be followed by a Harrison Barnes bank shot game winning three as time expired.

Six losses in a row and counting...

DEN and MEM will miss the playoffs. LAL really have a shot to make the playoffs. All they really need to do is hang around that 8th seed.

Denver's gonna be fine. The only reason the Lakers beat them the other night is because the refs decided to throw Jokic out midway through the 2nd quarter for no reason at all.

Yeah, with Memphis falling out (though that can still change somewhat with Conley coming back) and the Clippers disintegrating, the Lakers do have a chance. Personally, even with the Millsap injury, I still like Denver's chances a little more. They're going through an adjustment period without him, but could still be solid when adjusted.

Lakers do have a shot, like you said, as crazy as it is for me to type =P

After tonight Houston leads the league in poitn differential.

The only issue I have with them is they are a 9 man team, which is enough when all 9 are healthy. But their 10-15 is really quite awful, so they can't afford more than one injury at a time.

Where they gonna finish? I can't picture them finishing higher than 8th. The only West team that's currently out of the playoff picture that I think can make a push for the 8th seed is LAL. MEM is just not gonna make it without Conley for an extended period.

I'm OK with that. Guarantees their pick doesn't end up in Boston.

Marc Gasol come on down to the rumor mill. You can have our pick Memphis (not brooklyn's) and we'll unload some salary for you

Philly still gets it but LAL have every incentive to win this year. I wouldn't be surprised if they shop Randall or Clarkson to make a playoff push.

Yea but they turn right around and get the Kings top 1 protected '19 pick instead.

What a great trade that was by Ainge and he got absolutely killed here for it this summer.
