2017-2018 Around the NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Suns management did a great job screwing up the return they’re going to get for Bledsoe.

Their own fault for 1.) shutting him down against his will when healthy to tank and 2.) severely overvaluing him this summer.

One thing for sure is that they have zero chance at the Brooklyn pick unless they wanna talk Booker.

Trash organization.

They could have gotten lottery picks for Bledsoe this summer.

They’re going to be lucky to get a late first or protected first and expiring money now.

I remember people asked on here why the Suns would trade Bledsoe for like the 13th pick when we were talking Love/Kyrie/three team deals this summer..

This is why....100%. For it to get this bad where the GM is publicly saying he’s gone...well it didn’t happen overnight is all I’m saying. There’s been issues for a long time.

I wouldn’t give up more than Shumpert and a second round pick for him at this point. Don’t even think we can make the salary work until Dec 15 anyway.

Having to give minutes to IT, Rose, Wade, Bledsoe is not something I would want to put on Lue.

I mean what coach could manage that smoothly: IT/Rose/Bledsoe/Wade/JR having to divide up 96 minutes.

On top of that, still dividing up the other 144 minutes between LeBron/Crowder/Love/TT/Korver/Green

There's a reason no team in the NBA has a true night in, night out 10-11 man rotation

I'd expect Rose to go to Arizona in any trade like that.

Arizona's not sniffing that Brooklyn pick for Bledsoe though. If they want to discuss Booker too? Then maybe they get a phone call.

In fairness to the Suns, they were ready to pull the trigger on a deal that moved Bledsoe this off-season to the Cavs. It was Indiana who backed out last second and left the Cavs and Suns in compromised positions.

Cavs had everything aligned for Bledsoe, Paul George, and Carmelo/Wade in Cleveland. Indiana decided Victor Oladipo and Sabonis were a better return than the #4 pick and additional assets.

Oladipo playing college ball at Indiana probably factored into that. It seems to have worked out in their favor so far.

Ehh, I really don’t agree with that narrative you’re putting out here.

I have heard rumblings of that deal, but all indications are Phoenix backed out of that when they got wind Josh Jackson was going to be there at #4 and it was never agreed upon by the Cavs to send out Kyrie before the request either. Hence why they weren’t willing to trade Jackson and Bledsoe post trade request. They were never confident Kyrie would be willing to stay there which was a big deal especially when they figured Boston was taking Tatum.

The one we know for sure Indiana backed out at the last minute was Denver/Indy /Cle where we got George, Indy got Harris and #13, and Denver got Love. That deal was remarkably close.

The three way pre-request Suns deal has been explained many different ways by different people. It simply wasn’t as close as the Denver one. The Cavs also weren’t sure they wanted to deal Kyrie at that point before the request.

I highly doubt it.

Bledsoe's value is probably cut in half from what it was a couple months ago, and, though it's still early, JJ is looking like the latest addition to their collection of mismatched, underachieving project wings.

Flipping Bledsoe and JJ for Kyrie (which given LeBron's high opinion of Bledsoe and JJ may have been within the realm of possibility) would undoubtedly have put them in a better position than they're in now, given Kyrie's demonstrably high value around the league.

That's great, but Bledsoe is immaterial.

They are one of the two/three worst teams in the league. Trading Jackson for Kyrie, who in no way takes that team and turns it into sort of relevant, winning group, makes no sense.

It didn't make sense in the summer, and considering just how bad they appear to be, it makes even less now.

btw what is this garbage. You're the second person to say this today, and we wouldn't tolerate this nonsense if we said it about our own rookie after 3 games. Good lord.
