Damn, I miss when we were talking about Ayton, Doncic, Porter, and Bagley.

So Porter.... might have a serious back injury.

Link? Thought it was a hip?

If we get, say, the 6th pick and Porter is there, I'm taking him. Even if it's an Embiid situation.

They're never out of the conversation entirely, even if the Nets end up in the 5-8 range(I think 4-6 is most likely)

That's the beauty and added value of a pick with no protections in a lottery system.

Certainly slot matters but all of this is up in the air until a night in Mid May when anything can happen and picks in the 4-8 range have consistently jumped into the top3 over the past 15 years

Is there any news on him? The entire situation is completely bizarre, I don't know what to make of it.

We could have a sticky about what happened in the past with picks outside top 3. Lottery jumps and top 10 players per pick perhaps?

Feel the need to post this for posterity's sake lol

And the Kyrie pick, while we had the worst record in the league, actually came from the Clippers pick jumping up from 7 or 8 all the way to 1.

Even when that doesn't happen, there are several instances of picks outside the top3 jumping up to 2 or 3.

The odds of course are against it, but it happens and it's why getting to caught up in any one specific player or draft spot a pointless until the lottery happens

Yet another big, Robert Williams debuted yesterday.

Looks just as bit as athletically gifted as he was last year.

LeBron could make this guy so good. I buy into his ability to possibly defend out on the perimeter in the future much more than Bagley's. With all of these bigs, at least one or two are bound to fall a bit in the draft.

Robert Williams is pretty much the oldest of them all, and is probably still super raw offensively and stuck playing a lot of zone defense. Wouldn't surprise me if he falls a bit and goes in between our two picks somewhere

Yes, the Kyrie pick from the Clippers had a 2.8% chance of becoming the #1 pick. Thanks Neil Olshey.

There's actually a very solid chance that a non-bottom 3 team gets the #1 pick (39.5% chance). Here's the lottery position for the last 10 drafts of the #1 pick, and their odds at it.

2008: 9th (1.7%)
2009: 3rd (17.7%)
2010: 5th (10.3%)
2011: 8th (2.8%)
2012: 4th (13.7%)
2013: 3rd (15.6%)
2014: 9th (1.7%)
2015: 1st (25.0%)
2016: 1st (25.0%)
2017: 1st (25.0%)

If the team with the worst record wins it again, I'll be calling the FBI.

It's a crap shoot, which is why I love the lottery. Would love to watch the NBA world burn down yet again with the Cavs pulling some Houdini type of shit and winning it again.

God dam Giannis’ brother is starting to look like a very intriguing prospect. Definitely from the same gene pool. Fascinating player.

Michael Porter getting back surgery. Done for the year. Wow.

@czvo was all over this last night

That’s the scariest thing I’ve ever heard. Back surgery for a 19 year old?

He’s so talented he’s still gotta be a top 5 pick but my goodness that’s going to be the riskiest pick of all time.

Anyone know of any athletes, preferably basketball players, that had this surgery?
