Already deep draft might be getting even deeper.... I like this kid quite a bit. Definitely was going to be a guy to watch next year for the 2019 draft...may not have to wait.

He's a pretty athletic kid. Scoring point guard. Can shoot the 3. Wonder where he'll be pegged on most big boards.... I'd take a serious look at him with our late first rounder. He'd basically be an automatic red-shirt even as a rookie. I'd have him play the whole year in the D-league and maybe bring him back up at the end of the year to get some action in April games.

This draft is a little light on PGs, so this is great

Update on Doncic: through 17 Euroleague+ACB games, his per-36 averages stand at 23 points (62% true shooting), 8.6 rebounds, and 6.0 assists (2.4 turnovers).

Don't let his polished game distract from the fact that he's the same age as Bagley (9 months younger than Bamba, 8 months younger than Porter Jr., 7 months younger than Ayton).

He’s getting a lot of #1 buzz, rightly so, right now. There’s GMs who have called him “the definition of a sure thing”, from what I have heard.

Has there ever been a prospect this good offensively at 18 years old? Only guy I can think of is Kyrie, honestly, and Doncic has way more defensive potential than Kyrie ever did.

Haven't watched too much of Doncic. I watched one full game recently against Barcalona and he reminded me so much of Gordan Hayward offensively to me.

Not sure I see the defensive potential though?

And actually I do remember people thinking Kyrie did have some defensive potential pre-draft. He has decent size and quickness as a PG, was just a matter of effort of whether he could at least be an average defender - which he's actually shown some of in Boston so far.

Wish there was a Simmons, embiid in this mothefucka

I’m allergic to scrubs

I don't think Doncic has great defensive potential, just more than most point guards because of his size and motor. At the very least you know he's going to be a guy who hustles and grabs 5-8 boards per game, and that has some value. He won't be one of the worst 10-20 defensive players in the league his first few years the way many elite offensive prospects are.

I haven't watched a ton of Doncic. Is he a right-handed Ginobili?

no. he doesnt have the shake n bake game and is better shooter, passer etc..

Here are his highlights from today...lots of good stuff:

If you want more, this guy seems to post Doncic videos after every game. They include almost every play he's involved in, so they're better for scouting than pure highlight videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/24kobemon/videos

There might be multiple.

It's HIGHLY unlikely, at least from what I've seen. No one is at the level Embiid was as a prospect. Bagley COULD be a Simmons-type of player, but he either doesn't have the passing chops or isn't being showcased in that way.

In case you didn't know, Doncic is the most accomplished European player at his age since at least Pau Gasol.

Pau was 20 years old for his final Euro season. When he was the same age as Doncic, he had played a total of 25 professional minutes.

I don't think any basketball player has been as accomplished as Doncic at the same age. Kobe probably the only guy who could make a case against him there.

I don't feel I've seen enough of Doncic to speak about him in depth, hence why I leave him out of pretty much every post.
