2018 Trade Deadline

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Our lineup holes are CF and RF. I think we can get away with Naquin/Allen/Davis filling one of those spots, but I'd look to fill the other one.

Chisenhall is basically done for the year. Unfortunate he's dealt with so many injuries the last few years when he's really been coming into his own as a hitter.

Give me a CF/RF and as many relievers as we can realistically afford :chuckle:

CF/RF potentially available:
Leonys Martin
Starling Marte
Adam Jones
Andrew McCutchen
Scott Schebler
Teoscar Hernandez

The only hitters still on the team that weren't "objectively awful" last postseason are ironically Yan Gomes and Roberto Perez

Unfortunately the market seems weak, especially at CF

Yeah, I went back and edited in a few that might be available for either position. Not a sexy list by any means, but also should make the price tags somewhat cheap.

Pretty much anyone is an offensive upgrade over Greg Allen.

Think Hernandez and Schebler would be pricey. Marte and McCutchen are intriguing to me. I don't think the Giants will be selling at this deadline- maybe in August.

What do you think on Jones? Is his bat above average enough to make up for what appears to be abysmal defense?

I saw the Texas Rangers designated Austin Jackson for assignment. Any of you think there's a chance the FO brings him back? I don't know what his numbers looked like for the Giants this season. They could be absolutely horrendous. I don't keep up with Major League Baseball as a whole.

Jones' bat isn't even above average anymore, so the hope would be he could be serviceable in RF, and provide the occasional long ball.

Teoscar might be a little pricey, I don't think Schebler would be. Neither of them are world beaters, or great prospects.

Struck out 36% of the time, he was brutal

On the subject of Marte and the Pirates, Corey Dickerson could be an interesting option in RF that probably wouldn't cost a whole lot

25 career innings in right field.

That’s a tough sell, but I love the bat.

I did notice that which isn't great since he's not particularly strong in LF as is.

How about a guy like Nick Castellanos? His defensive metrics are awful, but he has been a productive right handed bat that would fit nicely in this lineup.

Marte is beginning to heat up and now has an OPS over .800. He’s under team control through 2021, so I wonder what Huntington will ask for him.
