2019 RCF NFL Mock Draft - Commentary

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Surprised Harry fell to the second.

Considered trading up for him a couple of times because I was worried other teams were gonna grab him.

While researching some upcoming draft picks, I had a random thought. Did we ever do an RCF mock draft for the NBA? I cant seem to recall.

I organized one when the Cavs had the first pick in 2014. Looking back on it, I completely blew the chance to draft Embiid #1 so I could get Andrew Wiggins and Nerlens Noel. Oops!

Harry is probably a top-5 value selection thus far. Nice target for Murray to get started.

I think it would be fun to do another one this year as most people have been paying attention to prospects as opposed to other years when we had LBJ

Adderley is so fucking great, jumps off the screen more than any other Safety in the draft. That's a great pick in the second round.

And Arizona still has Christian Kirk who should be better this year too.

Really took me a while not to pick him at the end of Round 1.

If not for the Packers having Josh Jones (who they like) and having just signed Adrian Amos I would have pulled the trigger.

But Hakeem Butler with Rodgers would be silly good, as Davante Adams is opened up on the other end of the field.

Felt the same way with the eagles. They have Jenkins who's still good, but will need to be replaced eventually. Plus they have two more guys on one year deals. Seeing how the draft and depth of the safeties play out.

I know the eagles usually draft lineman with their first rounder, but all my targets were gone right before I picked (really thought Wilkins, Simmons or Ford were going to fall to me). So I went with Jacobs who fans and article's I've read had him pegged at. Not a huge fan of rbs in the first, but I thought he could make an immediate impact right away, even though there were later options I liked too.

May be willing to trade down from 38 if a nice offer presents itself.

UPDATE: No longer accepting trade offers

Yeah I was pretty surprised he was like the fourth receiver drafted, as I think he's got the highest floor of any receiver in the draft while having a similarly high ceiling as any of the other top guys. He has the type of skill set that I think will be effective regardless of QB quality, unlike Metcalf who, in my opinion, is entirely dependent on situation. If Metcalf ends up with a QB who can't throw deep, he's gonna bust. And if NFL teams have proven anything, it's that they are more than willing to blow a high first on a wide receiver who only runs fast when the team has a QB who can't throw far.

I was 100% locked on Harry at 2.01 unless I pulled off a trade for a WR.

Tried to get AJ Green, but my best offer was #41.

@Soda basically made that pick for me. Two guys I was eyeing there were Risner and Winovich. Would have been pissed if Kramer took Chase and forced me to spend a half hour doing research on other options.

Since I have contacted about half the 2nd round, figured I'd let everyone know:

The Texans are willing to trade up and willing to part with picks or roster players to get there.

Realllllly wanted to get Marquise Brown paired with Darnold.

The Jets are so fucking lacking everywhere.

I broke the streak with Hakeem Butler
