2019 RCF NFL Mock Draft - Commentary

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Eagles are open to trading down with the #57 overall in the second round

Zach Allen and Trayvon Mullen were my top two guys left, with Andy Isabella my go-to pick if nobody I liked was still available.

Fuck.

I wanted Edwards, so I get how ya feel and Isabella I would have grabbed if he was available late in the next round. I guess from the talk around here, we did hype up Isabella a fair amount as well.

If @raiders91sc goes over time today, instead of drafting for him I'm just going to make the Niners pick and call it a trade for my 2019 6th rounder to move three spots up.

I feel like Isabella clearly has his limitations, but for how the Saints would use him he could have a big season with that offense. And the Saints are gearing up for one last push with Brees so while Isabella being picked there may be slightly high IMO, it just made too much sense.

In my top four, not my pick right now. Real talk: I'm looking at an eight hour drive home from San Diego today. I don't want to be the reason the draft grinds to a halt.

Don’t worry sportcoach will handle that for you....

Here is my opinion on the draft so far, just a dumb opinion no facts:

1. Picks 7,8,9,10. I hate them. I think they are all reaches. If drafted 15 thru 20 I would like the picks. A top 10 pick has to be a starter from day 1 in the NFL. You can't miss on those picks. Do I think they can be studs. Oh yeah, but I think the risk is too high for those picks. Gary's tape is trash. Yes his combine numbers are unbelievable. If he couldn't put up numbers in college for a NFL coach how is he going to do it in the NFL. I think he ends up a DT not a DE. Metcalf film looks ok, unbelievable physical specimen and some of his combine looks awesome but then u notice he cant move east and west. With 8th pick I want a Green or OBJ not a guy who only can go straight down the field. Oliver's athletic ability is beyond rare but he plays at 270 and has poor length. Can he put on 20/30 lbs, can he take the beatings at 270, is he really a DE or MLB, or can he stay healthy being that small?? Bush looks like a smaller Darron Lee with a little more speed. Lee was drafted 20th and really hasn't set the world on fire.

Winners in 1st round: 49ers, Cincy, Minny, and Seattle.

Winners in 2nd round: Detroit, Carolina, Washington, Tenn and KC

Your JJ Arcega-Whiteside pick can't be graded until April 5th when he finally works out. If he runs in the 4.5s, you nailed the end of the second. If he runs a 4.7, you reached. It's a fascinating situation.

Not sure you should be throwing these stones, my dude. You took Polite in the first round.

My 1st round strategy was originally to snag a top shelf edge rusher in the top 5 and then trade up into the 10's to get one of Bush or White... Which, as soon as I agreed to the trade, was completely ruined by both White and Bush going before me.

At that point it became a choice between another EDGE or a CB, and I just didn't like the value with any of the CB's at 16. After Greedy and Murphy were gone I didn't really like the thought of Baker at 24.

I think if anyone wanted to go into the mid- to late 1st round looking for DB's, they need to think really hard about it. I'm just not certain the value is there for a lot of those guys.

White should have been taken by Detroit... I couldn't believe I was making a pick for somebody on the first day so I decided on Megatron Jr. to the Lions for the giggles and shits. All due respect on a lost loved one, but I truly feel everyone can just type in a name and get it over with. I was time keeper while organizing a family vacation 500 miles away from home.

I agree but PFF loves him. They think he is the 2nd best WR in the draft and a 1st round pick. I like him for the Pats for a red zone WR since Gronk retired and we couldn't get one of the top 3 TEs in draft.
