2019 RCF NFL Mock Draft - Commentary

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We have a trade to announce!

The Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins have agreed to:

#75, Will Fuller, 2020 2nd and 4th rounder

for

#48, Albert Wilson

Texans are now on the clock, my pick will be upcoming!

Gotta say, I absolutely hate this for Houston.

I think Will Fuller is sneakily one of the most important WR's in football right now. The Texans look night and day when he's on the field compared to when he's out. He probably holds first round value to them. You gave him up, plus additional value just to move up and to snag Albert Wilson, who really doesn't do much differently than Keke Coutee (although I really like Wilson).

Glad to know I wasn't alone in thinking Fuller was the best player in that deal.

Miami trading for Will Fuller when their qb is..............

Fuller is coming off ANOTHER major injury.

So is Wilson.

Wilson's injury was much less significant than Will Fuller.

Also, I anticipate Fuller's production to be replaced reasonably well from Wilson. Meanwhile, Houston finally has an OLine that can protect its franchise QB.

It's a win win for both teams. Phins get ammo for 2020 draft, Texans get immediate help.

I don't think Wilson and Fuller have anything in common. Wilson's an underneath speed guy--I don't see him running any of the downfield routes that Fuller has excelled at.

I think the only way this makes sense is if Houston is confident Fuller will never be healthy again.

I dont. He has not shown he can be healthy yet, so I'm not confident at all that he will be in the future.

Plus, knee injuries to speedy guys are always a crap shoot.

I just feel like Wilson is a dice roll, whereas Fuller, when healthy, is a very good wide receiver. Wilson just hasn't had any period of sustained production. Fuller has been elite when he plays with Watson.

Yeah, Fuller looks to be injury prone, but he's proven himself far more than Wilson has imo.

@Ohio I had Chauncey Gardner-Johnson second on my "if I can't draft" list behind Nasir Adderley. You represented the Browns well. He is not purely a free or strong safety, he's just solid in the backfield.

It's worth noting about CGJ's missed tackles over the last two seasons largely stem from his sophomore year. From what I have gathered he's mostly cleaned up that part of his game by now.

I friggin' love Johnson, either of him or Adderley dropping to #49 would be incredible. Even if both are gone there are still dudes like Thornhill and Rapp and Thompson.

I mean, you gotta give it to Dorsey; He probably couldn't have picked a more beneficial time to trade away the best young safety on the roster.

Yeah I also really like Nasir, but he had already been taken awhile before my pick.

Edit: Just saw it was you that took him, haha. Makes sense.
