#25: ATH, Jabrill Peppers

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah that was one of the plays I was talking about in another thread. Woof.

Except, Baldinger credits Jabrill for stopping the TD. I guess we see what we want. :chuckle:

Jabrill stopped the touchdown but I think the tweet was more about how terrible the defensive alignment was on a 3rd and 1 against one of the premier rushing teams in the NFL

It absolutely was. Bad alignment, bad read by Schobert. The line was simply not prepared for what looked like a guaranteed run. If not for Peppers, Foreman scores right then & there. Things people lamented about Jabrill (angle, tackling) were not poor.

To each his own, looks to me like a tackle attempt should have been made about 10 yards prior.

That Baldinger guy is clueless anyways.

The penalty on Peppers' hit was a fucking joke. Today, the NFL even had the audacity to fine him! He was fined even more than Kiko was for this hit. The Browns do plenty of damage to themselves on their own, and sometimes its hard to believe the NFL doesn't double down and make it harder.

It's really sad. I try to watch a lot of games and the amount of penalties that refs turn their heads on for other teams is sickening.

Normally I would say that the majority of our penalties are legit, just bad timing. But this year, it just seems that when we get some momentum, a flag gets thrown on us and it's difficult to see where the penalty is..... even the commentators are trying to figure out what was a penalty

What a joke. Burfict doesn’t even get fined for his personal foul when he blind sided a wr. Just shocked

Just more reasons why the NFL really is a fucking joke.

It would be nice if we could keep the Peppers' discussion to this thread instead of having it invade every thread in this section.

Personally, I think he's been fine so far this season in a small sample size (few preseason games and 1 regular season game) since making the move to SS. I don't really understand the bashing, and I've been very critical of him and the fact we picked him in the past.

With that said, he's definitely been a disappointment as a returner, even if you ignore yesterday's fair catch. I thought, at the least, he'd be an elite returner (as he was in College) but it has not translated at all...

Overall though, he looks like a JAG, imo. Not bad but not really a difference maker either. Just...a guy. Which is exactly what I thought he'd be. Still not a good pick for the 1st round but the Browns have done much worse.

Here's to hoping he improves as time goes on.

@Ohio I'd say that's all fair. He didn't jump off the screen in any capacity yesterday, outside of recovering a fumble. I didn't intend to come to the site today to discuss Peppers, but I also think the bashing from the one specific poster has gone to a level of unfair and malicious. On top of that, the poster is making things up about the guy's character. I'm gonna call that out.
