Corey Coleman

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This was an attitude and culture thing. TBH I remember watching a behind the scenes video of Corey getting drafted by the Browns. He looked really upset and disappointed that it was Cleveland. He, like Johnny, Justin, and others, were legends in their own minds and didn't want to be here. Too good for Cleveland. Have to take the trash out. I think Peppers is another one, but that is tbd.

Guys like Myles, Baker, Denzel, Ogbah, Landry...they were excited for the opportunity here. Corey Coleman was a malcontent, dropped the pass that led to 0-16, was not committed. Have fun in Buffalo. If you thought Cleveland was far from the lime light, well buddy boy, you are in for something now.

Haha...you need to learn up some geography, man. He GOT what he wanted. He is NOW playing in NEW YORK! New York baby! Look out, I am playing in New York!!!

(Can just imagine he steps off the plane in Buffalo and starts looking for his connecting flight.

"Um, 'scuse me, I'm Corey Coleman...where is my connecting flight?"

"Connecting flight to where?"

"Um, New York?"

"Dude, this IS New York."

"Hmm. I thought it'd be brighter. So ah, tell me. Where is the closest Gentlemen's Club (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)?

"Oh yeah, the men's room? Thru that door, down the hallway, 2nd door on the left."

"SWEET! This is dope!"

When they were both available, Coleman was the better receiver.

"When both Antonio Brown and Arrelious Benn were both available, Benn was the better receiver."

Callaway will be better than Coleman ever was or will be. Told you guys that on draft night. A true 1st round talent.

I mean I’d say Coleman was surely a first round talent.....

He was a god in college.

Not sure what you're trying to get at since nobody is saying that.

I mean, they traded him for a 7th rounder. I dont think it's crazy to say the guy clearly was not respected or well liked by coaches or teammates.

Hes been on the block for nearly 5 months.

The problem with arguing that the Browns didn't get enough for him is that if he was truly a bargain, other teams would have jumped in to try to grab him. The fact that nobody in the league apparently was willing to give up very much for this guy suggests that us fans don't exactly have the full story on him.

Right but how bad could this guy have been in the locker room that you could not even wait a preseason game or 2 to juice up his value a bit? The first game is 4 days away.

If this was to send a message to the locker room, that "If you don't work/are a bad influence, we'll trade you", you have to realize that the flip side of that message is, "If you don't want to be here, just stop working and you'll get your wish". If you really want to send that message, just cut his ass and really make an example of him.

There is no way to know that playing him would increase his value. In any case, the rest of the league knows he was a first round pick, and could just as easily assume that he'd look good on the field if that was true. And despite that upside, nobody was willing to offer more than a 7th. That's a pretty stunning commentary on what the entire league must know about this guy.

We don't know what he was doing in the locker room, or how disruptive he was being overall. Perhaps he was showing that he hadn't studied the playbook at all, didn't know his routes well, was bitching...etc.. Point is, all of us assuming that we should have kept him to increase his values have to be able to explain why the rest of the league passed on this guy.

And, it's better to get a 7th round pick than nothing.

Someone in the organization needs to leak the reason why he was traded. They had him on the block for 5 months and were willing to trade him for pretty much nothing in a 7th round pick. If he was that bad of a influence or distraction, why even bring him to camp?

Trading him instead of cutting him means Buffalo is on the hook for the rest of his salary and not the Browns.

Not that a few million bucks is that big of a deal when you still have loads of cap space, but that's the rationale behind trading him over just releasing him.

Does the FO get a cut of the savings when they don't spend as much of Jimmy's money when the team is 60 million under the cap?

He may have become worse after reporting to camp.

Zegura is great at what he does, but he has defended close to, if not every, Browns move since he's been in his position, including under the last regime.

Zegura is the Baghdad Bob of the Browns. Let's be honest about this. Guy is a spin doctor for the team.

I think we all know that already.

That's not the issue with dumping Coleman for nothing at this moment in time.
