Corey Coleman

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Appears they just wanted to rid themselves because of his contract and/or attitude. I wish they could have added conditions to it like if he catches 1000 yards and 5 TDS we get a 4th.....oh well.

It also shows you that there are 30 other teams who were not giving even that up.

@thedarkness2332 the dream is dead.

I don't care about the past/Sashi anymore. All I care about is the Browns winning. I like a lot of what Dorsey has done, but I'm not sure I agree with trading him away (and I think its too early to call him a bust), assuming there isn't something behind the scenes going on that we don't know about.

I don't know why people want to come on here and gloat. Like cool man. Don't we all want the same thing here? IDC if I like or don't like a coach/GM/player. I'm still rooting for them to succeed.

Absolutely agree. Only reason I still talk about it is because he still has people out there saying he did god's work for the Browns. He just sucked and his only retort to not being able to pick players was to try to shrewdly sell-off assets like he was taking over an outdated Ford plant.

We basically cut him. That pick is laughable considering he's two years removed from being a top 15 pick.

Like I said before, been in favor of the moves all summer and the draft.. But this one makes no sense, unless it got personal between Coleman and the guys calling the shots. Because the timing is awful, along with the move itself.

I'm thrilled with the other receivers the Browns have, especially Callaway. I love his upside and if he stays on the field, he will ultimately be better than Coleman honestly.

I still hope we can sign Bryant. It makes more sense now, I believe.

Gordon
Landry
Bryant
Callaway
Higgins

Those 5 guys would be enough to put some points on the board, along with Njoku and Duke Johnson as other weapons as well.

The idea of getting rid of Coleman isn't a bad one, but the fact they got nothing for him is concerning.

If you think the deal they made with the Bills was bad, you should have seen the rest of the offers (or lack thereof). It screams a lot; we apparently had too much hope in Corey.

I mean, do we know the other offers for him?

I guess it's pretty clear we didn't have much else on the board considering we took basically nothing for him from Buffalo.

I definitely believe they could have gotten more.

The smart thing to do would have been to have Tyrod and Mayfield force the football to Coleman all preseason long, build up his stock a little and then see where the value was after that. Then collect more offers around the league.

80% chance they get a better offer than a 7th round pick in 2 years.

I just can't understand the rationale behind giving a guy two weeks worth of starter reps if you're *that* desperate to get rid of him.

Just doesn't make sense to me.

He should have been buried to 4th string so someone else could have gotten those reps or traded in mid July.

I think it's fair to assume they took the best deal on the table. He's been on the block for a while, so I'm guessing that it just got to be an issue of it getting too close to the season for a guy they didn't have in their plans. Apparently, blowing curfew with Kenny Britt was the start of the end.

He better have the worst attitude in the league. If not, this is terrible.

Unless he’s bringing a knife to camp and stabbing corners, I have absolutely no idea why you don’t just evaluate him in preseason games.

I just don’t understand at all.

You can hate Corey all you want, but even his haters have to admit that he was—at minimum—the 4th or 5th best receiver on this roster. Heck, I’m one of them. I’ve always been hard on him and thought he might be a trade victim this offseason. The difference is... I thought it might be at the end of camp. He’s young and has a degree of talent. We are in no position to be essentially cutting someone this early who has talent.

Just an absolutely shameful move.

Exactly.. Especially if you're going to take a 7th round pick in 2 years to unload him. You basically waived the guy, after giving him reps with the first team offense and the first preseason game being 3 days away.

Makes no sense, from the outside view. Maybe there is more to it than what we are getting at with him, but I just don't see it.

This one will remain a questionmark for me. If Coelman does well in Buffalo, it makes it a lot worse considering the kid definitely has the talent.

Don't think Coleman was going to have a breakout year as the 4th WR on the depth chart with a starting QB who throws for 3000 yards a year

No, but if he’s not a locker room cancer, he’s worth keeping as the 4th receiver should an injury take place.

I don't really have a problem trading Coleman away.

He wasn't picked by this regime. He clearly has some serious off the field/attitude/work ethic issues. Sure seems like the front office and coaching staff were beyond fed up by his act. So be it.

I just don't get why you'd give him two weeks worth of starter reps and then pull the rug if the plan all along was to pull the rug.

The Bills didn't trade for this guy because he got starter reps in practice the last two weeks.

They just traded him for a 7th round pick, think we can safely put two and two together
