Looks better and more confident without Lebron. Super early and Love is known for being an early riser.

Reminded me of Minny Love where he shot a lot of shots from long range in the middle of a set (like a fake hand-off, coming off a screen with live dribble, etc).

Body looks like it’s in the best shape he’s ever been in.

He looks quick but still powerful.

Much better than the 2015,16, 17 versions where he either looked hobbled and slow or quick-thin and weak.

I think Lebron and Kyrie being gone, while a total tragedy from a basketball standpoint, has at least given us the silver lining of seeing the real Kevin Love.

He is quicker because he no longer had to wear LeBron cloak. Love looked relaxed and carefree

Love looks great and in my opinion he is the unreplaceable player in our team.

So I wanna ask you who is the (best) alternative to Kevin Love in our rotation/bench?
Dekker? (I don't expect too much from him) Who else? Frye?
I don't think Lue will play Nance(unless he improves shooting) with Tristan or Zizic.
Any small ball strategies? Hill(Sexton)-Hood-Nwaba-Cedi-Nance?

Last season Love played 28 mins per game. Considering his age, past injuries and high tempo basketball this year, how many mins can/shall he play and how does Lue substitute him efficiently?

I think we see Nwaba and Cedi for sure at the 4 this year. How much I do not know, but I can see it.

I think Nance is the one who would soak up the available minutes at PF when Love isn't in the game. He can initiate the offense from the high post like Love and if he can extend his range we can run similar sets. Both Love and Nance are good rebounders too.

Nance's shooting range is an issue like you pointed out but Frye at center could be the solution to that problem. I said this in another thread but I think Dekker is getting first crack as the backup PF because they might need to make a decision on him earlier than some of the other lower paid guys on the roster. He is eligible to be traded right now unlike alot of the back end of the roster so he could be filler if someone comes calling for JR, Hill, TT, or Korver.

The trade deadline will hopefully clear playing time for alot of players. Maybe Dekker is playing backup SF once some of the vets are moved.

One of the best +/- of the main rotation tonight, for whatever it's worth, at -3 in 34 minutes...

Looked rather sluggish in his movement tonight, that little injury at a bad time not helping there. Shafted a few times in the 4th quarter when the game was threatening to get close with phantom foul calls.

I think it showed that we really need an offensive threat out there that knows what he is doing. Rodney Hood is not that!

The offense repeatedly stalled when he wasn't in. To be expected. I imagine it will get better. Clarkson has to fucking pass the ball tho

Liked the way he moved and looked to move the ball. Hopefully he gets more comfortable as the season goes on inside, missed a lot of bunny shots in the paint.

He needs to go up stronger but I liked the way he played tonight.

I like Kevin and have no issue with him being here for the next 4-5 years.

That said, if mid season James Jones calls and offers Mikal Bridges, Ryan Anderson, and a top20 protected 1st for Love, I’d do it.

Same thing with Philly if they called and offered Wilson Chandler, Bayless, Zhaire Smith and either a protected future 1st or Korkmaz, I’d also do it.

And that’s just a long term view thing, not a reaction to Kevin’s game tonight. I have no frustation with him and will support him as long as he’s here, whether it’s less than a year or for the full next 5 years.
