No issues with his play tonight. He wanted to take those threes in the last minute and a half. Stepped into them with confidence.
If he keeps this team playing hard, he’ll have done his job.
They’ve played two playoff teams so far, and they haven’t looked utterly overmatched. They’re hanging.

His shooting to start the season has been god awful, 5/18, 6/19, 6/19.

Gratitude for loyalty will only go so far, he best get it going soon.

He didn't get a bunch of free throws to pad his point total tonight. 1/8 from three is not going to cut it if he can't score inside either.

Defense has been terrible: after all this time not expecting any rim protection but he's got to move his feet better. Slow as fuck Len dribble around him for heaven's sakes

How do we move him now though? He's scoring but not really efficiently, and teams can see his defense is bad. We're going to have to sell low probably.

I highly doubt Love will sports a 30.4 FG% and 26.3 3P% for the year. Obviously a small sample size with 3 games played but 18.7 FGA would be his second highest total in his 11 year career. He's going to have to mirror his efficiency numbers from last year or his Minnesota days to keep the team afloat. He's also going to be the focus on most nights for the opposition.

I wish the length of his contract was shorter (3 years with a team option on the 4th) but I think he will be productive for at least 2-3 years.

The same thing I said when we resigned him in the offseason is the same thing I'm thinking now: Why?

I love Kevin Love, and I'll always be thankful for his contributions here. I think he got dealt a raw hand a few times and was the media's whipping boy when LeBron was here. He handled it all professionally and was a great representative of what Cleveland stands for.

However, why? Why are we keeping him? If it wasn't obvious in the off season (it was) that we are NO WHERE NEAR CONTENDING, it HAS to be obvious to any doubters now. Atlanta has been the laughing stock of the league and they just came in our house and scored 130+ and beat us by 20+. Let that sink in.

Love should have been moved for assets/young pieces. It was evident this summer, it's even more evident now. However, we sort of handcuffed ourselves by signing him to a large extension all-the-while watching him start off pretty sluggishly this year. Good news is, enough teams around the league know what he's capable of so maybe it's not too late?

But, knowing how stubborn Dan is, I can't see us moving on from him. I honestly can't.

I like you think he has been a whipping boy, but I do think they will find a trade partner this year and move him for hopefully younger players with potential. (maybe even the Lakers or Denver)

It was a mistake to give him the extension. He's 30 years old, and obviously while he's still good, he's not turning back the clock and being a premier all-star player he once was.

He's still good. For now we can't move him. We'll have to wait and hope a contender is desperate around the deadline.

Cavs have a complimentary star player locked up long term who isn't good enough to harm the tank in a meaningful way.

This is a good thing.

Attaway to look at the bright side -- he definitely doesn't hurt the tank!

But boy, is he a weird player to have as your volume scorer on a bad team. His stat line so far is bizarrely inefficient -- if he wasn't getting over 9 FTA per game he would be really awful on offense. It's way too early to judge stats, but right now, with those 9.3 FTA he is averaging 20.7 points on 18.7 shots and a true shooting percentage of 45.4% (!). Without those free throws he'd be in trouble because his shooting percentages from the field are dismal (32% from 2, 26% from 3).

I can't see what any of this has to do with us trading Kyrie to Boston.
