Very bad game for him last night... Looks like he has lost his basketball mojo and looks sluggish physically... He will be the tank commander if he doesn't get better...

Love's gonna be just fine. Toronto is a very good defensive team that got even better with Leonard. They're very big and physical inside and Love's jump-shot just wasn't quite there. But we know he's gonna shoot 37-40% from 3, he's gonna get to the FT line and shoot 80+%, he's gonna get his 20-10(approximately) on good enough efficiency. But he's just not good enough to be your best player and you're going to lose to good teams like Toronto that know how to make him work.

Im sure that we'll be coming in this thread after games against teams like the Bulls or Hawks after Love throws up a 32-15 in 43 minutes in a fun team win and be showering him with praise. We know what he is, and that's not a bad thing. Just gotta take the good with the bad.

Indiana seemed to figure out Love's biggest weakness in the playoffs last year, and since, everyone has attacked it.

Love has tunnel vision and is a terrible passer when he gets into the post. So the defensive strategy is to actually let him get the ball in the post and then double-team him. More than likely, Love will force up a bad shot and try to get fouled, or he will throw a bad pass.

It was one thing to do that when the Cavs had LeBron who served as a constant outlet. Without that, though, I worry Love's weakness will become clearly apparent.

I think Love needs to play next Zizic and start coming off screens again like he did with Pekovic. We can't continue to force feed him in the post with the sole intention of scoring. Teams will probably switch our big to big screens a lot, so we need to try to punish them and post up Zizic quickly against the switch with the intention of scoring AND more importantly creating open 3pt looks for our shooters, mainly Love in the corner (because the big defender might try to help if Zizic proves to be too much of a load).

Lol, this won't happen, but shit..one can dream.

Yeah, this is the solution if teams start attacking that weakness.

Most of us have been screaming for Love to play next to Zizic ever since we saw how talented the kid is; it's a well-known fact at this point that Love excels when paired with a big, bruising (preferably white) center.

It's the magic elixir.

Just adding that those forced shots lead to 14 FTA. It was clear they were not going let Love beat them.

He had a bad shooting night but if he gets to the line anywhere near last night with close to average shooting percentage I will live with the forced shots

I like Love, but I have to question the strategy of playing a fast, up tempo game when your best player doesn't have the physical tools to play that way.

I disagree. Love has the tools. He gets a lot of defensive rebounds and he is amazing with his outlet passing. That's a key aspect of playing fast. He's also surprisingly agile when dribbling up court during a fast break.

Love's offense will work well once the pieces around him are more effectively situated.

Love looks much better making decisions fast. When he had time to think he turns it over more. Love when he plays fast

Yeah once the cutter cuts and love doesn't make a move or pass, nothing good usually happens.

I think it showed that we really need an offensive threat out there that knows what he is doing. Rodney Hood is not that!

The offense repeatedly stalled when he wasn't in. To be expected. I imagine it will get better. Clarkson has to fucking pass the ball tho

With K-Love it's interesting because the past few years he's often considered, sometimes rightly but sometimes wrongly, to not contribute much good to +/- and especially advanced stats of the sort, although this is considered (again, considered...) to be more of a postseason issue than a regular season one.

Liked his passing tonight, want to see more of that from him instead of forcing up shots when he is off in that department.
