Open Discussion (Cavs + related issues)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Cavs get: Eric Bledsoe, Josh Jackson
Suns get: Cedi Osman, Kevin Love, Clev 1st

Why the Suns do it? The James Jones and Kevin Love connection. Love would fit nice next to Tyson Chandler. And he could help them start trending in the right direction to entice Devin Booker to stay. Osman gives them another young piece to develop.

Why the Cavs do it? We give Bron 2 more guys who we know he wants to play with. We get more pg insurance for IT & Rose. We get a pg who can play now, is a better match-up against GS, and we can move Rose to the bench. We can experiment with Josh Jackson until the trade deadline. If he doesn't fit than he should still hold enough value to flip for another impact player.

Too much. Jackson (i know, way early) is putting up 11ppg, 1reb and 0.3 ast with horrible defense. 1 Rebound, really? Love is an All Star, Osman might be a 6th man one day and the 1st could be decent. Without Love, the 4/5 position would be very thin. If they were to throw in Chandler with those 2 it MIGHT be something to consider, but still no. I think Bledsoe and one of their young bigs for Shump, Frye and Cedi/Zizic or Cle 1st is fair.

I would definitely debate IT and Frye for Bledsoe if the Suns would do it. IT gives the Suns a leader and someone to push the over the top to the playoffs, maybe just not this season. Frye gives them vet leadership and floor spacing. We get Bledsoe who isn't as good as IT but there are less question marks with his health and we will have him for the full season. I think Bledsoe is better overall for the team in the playoffs with his defense and he can play in more rotational units than IT.

I really don't want Milwaukee to grab Bledsoe. We got the assets to get him.

so bron plays center? lol

I know it’s early but I’m already worried, we added more depth but are we really better than last year?

Let’s break it down:
• Wade looks done, Rose is injury prone, Green and Shumpert are retards, Frye, Korver and Calderon are old and can only shoot.
• Cedi and Zizic are young I don’t trust Lue to play them meaningful minutes to find out if they could help anyways
• IT isn’t back until January and we don’t know what he’ll be like when he returns and who knows if his offensive impact will translate sharing the floor with Lebron and he’s a bigger defensive liability than Kyrie.
• No matter what the numbers say, Love isn’t big impact player IMO. He can’t keep up with anyone on GS besides their centers but he’s too short to guard that position to offer paint protection, which will be crucial if IT is on the floor.
• So that leaves Lebron, Crowder, and JR (somehwhat) that can have a positive impact on both ends of the floor the most on anyone on our team.

Idk about you guys but I’m watching the Grizzlies vs Warriors game, Id trade Love for Gasol in a heartbeat. He’s the definition of impact player. I know he’s older but he’s just a better player on both ends of the floor. He’s better in the post, just as good a passer, and at not much difference in shooting at this point (Gasol seemed like he really improved his 3pt shot last couple years) and it’s not like Love is a knockdown shooter himself...he’s above average for a big at best. Gasol sets good screens and always boxes out and communicates on the floor. Gasol might be a tad slower but he makes up for it in size and length and I’d say he has better handles too.
Whatever slight (if any) offensive impact some will argue Love has<<<<the defensive impact Gasol has. And he always gives Warriors problems...which are the kind of guys we need.

Again I know it’s early and we need a healthy IT to gauge where we are as a team but so far it looks like we only got a bit better on defense while being noticibly less potent on offense this year.
Is that you Stephanie?

You guys are nuts. IT, Rose, Wade, and Bledsoe all on the same team would be a disaster, and getting rid of any of those guys for Bledsoe would make our organization look terrible.
What...you wouldn't give the Suns Calderon for Bledsoe? ...Like they want that on that their roster..

So if the Suns turned down our offer of Kyrie for Josh Jackson and Bledsoe what makes you think they wouldn't at the very least demand Kevin Love? Are you all seriously placing more value on KL than Kyrie?

I assume they would ask for that....

But it's not worth it for the Cavs, since they are trying to win this year. That trade makes you worse this year.

Trading KI for Bledsoe + Jackson would have also made us worse this year -- but we didn't have a choice in that case.
