Action Point -

A jackass movie for 12 year olds. Story line was decent. Characters were good. Movie fell flat for me.

Super hyped to see Hereditary this weekend. Has all the makings of a classic horror. We'll see.

Have you seen Beast yet?

Thought it was fantastic... Figured you'd dig it.

I'll give it like an 8/10 or so. Really enjoyed it. Violent as hell. Relatively predictable, to a point, and I can't say they nailed the ending, but I felt most of it was on point. Felt the soundtrack was awesome, too. Perfect in some scenes.

Worth a watch for sure.

Movie Pass brought their unlimited movies subscription back. May just pull the trigger.

Movie pass question for anyone who has one.

My theater has assigned seats; who picks the seat off of moviepass? What if I want to see a movie with someone who doesn’t have movie pass?

Do they actually hold You accountable and make you sit in them?

I mean, for most major films, the theater is full with sporadic single seating for weeks. They’re the recliners, so if someone ends up coming and you’re in their seat they lose their shit.

It’s arizona. Nothing really to do in summer.

at the one I've been at with recliners, only the ones where tickets have been sold are powered on.

Fracture - 7.5/10

Just saw this for the first time. Would have liked to seen the new trial play out.

So you just go to the kiosk and purchase a ticket like you would if you had any regular credit card. You just use your MoviePass card so they pay for it. So you would select seats like you normally would.

If you have a friend with you, you'll need to do two separate transactions. I suggest you both buy tickets simultaneously on two machines to decrease the chance of someone buying one of your seats a few seconds before you do.

So the entire process is this: When you are 100 yards from the theater, pull up your app, find the movie and showtime, click check in. This happens immediately assuming you have reception, the movie isn't sold out, etc... You then simply go in and buy the ticket using your MP card.

Hereditary 6.5/10

Really not getting the hype. Down with the slow burn. Just felt like the climax didn't pay off the way everyone else seems to think it does. Very dark film, though, it will stick with you. Just, really not that scary. Incredible acting performance by the lead too.

Finally got around to watching Annihilation, and I absolutely loved it. I can see where it would be divisive to people, but just about everything worked for me. I just love the way Alex Garland makes really introspective and thoughtful sci-fi films. This was definitely the type of film that made me think for a long time after it finished.

With his work as a screenwriter (28 days later, sunshine, never let me go) and director (dredd, ex machina, annihilation), it's getting tough to argue that anyone in sci fi has a stronger track record this century.
