Keep the foster pup

You must... look at them...
It's going to be very difficult when he goes. He quickly became a member of the pact and learned to socialize very quick. We have him on petfinder though and will be very selective of where he goes.

Hannahs foot work against this 150 pound dog is incredible.

I've been filling the dog void in my life by volunteering at the local dog shelter. But now I bonded with one more than I expected and every time I go back I pray she isn't there. I can't have a dog right now, but volunteering there makes this very difficult lol

Any updates? Interested in doing this.

Today is Morgan's one year anniversary. :/

Doing OK so far

I try to go once a week but lately haven't been able to go since last month for the same reasons as why I can't have a dog right now. I'm at the office 60+ hours a week and until I get my designation there will be months like that

But i really love volunteering there. Obviously the dog walking is 100 times funner than the kennel cleaning but honestly seeing how happy the dogs are when they get to go out can't help but put a smile on your face. You make their whole day and the entire time until the next day they're just waiting for and looking forward to the next time they can go out.

I highly recommend doing it

Can you give me a run down of this breed?
They were originally breed as livestock guardians. They are very big obviously. Our eldest boy is 130 lbs, our girl pandora is 95 and our young boy Panama (1 year) is about 95 lbs as well.

They are very good with small children. If you ever take them out in public be prepared to be mobbed. They love the attention though. They are very protective of your home.

They need to be brushed quite frequently. I bought a blowdryer specifically for dogs, so that I can groom them myself. It gets them nice and fluffy after a wash.

In short they are the best. I love the Great Pyrenees.

We have a rescue near by. It's where we got two of our dogs from. You might check and see if there is a rescue near where you live if you are interested in having one or two or three [emoji28]

Edit: as far as temperament goes; they are very laid back. Not a high energy dog by any means. They typically aren't fond of water either; other than drinking. Panda is downright afraid of water. Our other two will at least get in the water a little bit. Panda will bite his leash and yank on it if we try and bring him near a large body of water.

ugh

adopted a siberian husky yesterday from a husky rescue down in zanesville. awesome personality, he likes to cuddle but not in a demanding "pet me now" way, is really good with our dog - couldnt stop licking him. my dog took a bit to get warmed up to him but now he is the one instigated the roughhousing even though he's down 15 pounds and a ton of size. on the drive home he jumped out from the back of the SUV into the bench, then stretched out and forcefully pushed his head on my shoulder/face. got home and i was laying on the couch and he half jumped on me and licked my face for ten minutes. had a bad ear infection so his ears are all messed up, short and thick like leather. also has the floppy toe problem. nbd. otherwise he's such a great dog, not crazy high energy, responds well to commands, follows us around everywhere...

but then we discovered that he has some incontinence issues :( he dribbles whenever he's standing pretty much, seems to be okay when he's relaxing/laying down but if he's standing he's making a puddle. going to get him to a vet asap to diagnose (could just be a UTI but haven't seen any blood in urine). if it's something that requires surgery i don't think we are gonna keep him and it breaks my heart. at least the rescue lady seems to be awesome.

so strange though, we were with him in the training area of petsmart for a solid half hour, and he didn't dribble there...
