The Official Game of Thrones [A Song of Ice and Fire] Thread (includes spoilers)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Season 7 Teaser out, premier date not until mid-July, which kinda sucks.

Yeah, they had to push back filming this year because they needed some of their locations to actually be cold during filming. They had to stop filming in Dubrovnik (King's Landing) entirely because it's never cold there. I think there were also some issues with the city over the walk of shame scene.

Yea I was just hoping it wouldn't be quite that delayed.

Re-watching episode 10 again, I'm starting to get a feeling about Qyburn. LIke maybe he really isn't on Cersei's side at all....

How so?

Side-related note: I went to the Game of Thrones Music Experience or whatever it's called in Columbus a couple weeks ago. Really really cool show. Ramin Djawadi and a whole orchestra performed music from the show synced up to custom footage from the show, and the whole stage was themed. Pretty great stuff.

If you're a in town where it's coming through, it's worth it.

The way he smiled at her at the end of the episode just made me pause.

Here is a guy who has, in his own way, figured out how to bring someone back from the dead, and he's put her, the stupidest woman on Earth, on the throne, just as the shit is about to hit the fan.

I dunno, it's probably nothing. He's probably just a side character, a plot device so she could screw everything up...but I guess I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to her screw everything up for some hidden reason.

Interesting. Might try to pay attention to him a bit more when I get there on the re-watch.

Sadly, I feel like with 13 episodes left the stage is ultimately set and we won't get too many more changes of allegiances. Hard to believe that the endgame has been set in motion and we're almost certainly at the point where action set pieces and actual answers outweigh the relationship dynamics stuff and theories/questions.

I still think there are a few surprises left. I suspect Sam finds one or two of them, and it's gonna be more than just "dragon glass kills white walkers."

This is for sure the last season coming up? Any news on a movie finale or anything?

Hot Pie = Azor Ahai

I mean, they even rhyme.

I think the "shock" will come as Jon's birth was recorded in Oldtown and the secrets to making Valyarian steel in there as well.

The other "shock" is Dany slowly goes crazy much like the Mad king did. She will try to take Westeros by force from the South. Meanwhile the Ironborn will try to take Westeros from the North. Meanwhile Jon being the King of the North will rally the North to his cause. When Bran finds out he tells Jon about the secret in the Catacombs the burial place of Winter... Winter is Coming is not a warning... It is a battlecry that was lost to time. Bran the builder needed the Giants and magic to create the catacombs beneath Winterfell. I think the Catacombs were built as a memorial. A place where Winter, the Ice Dragon, fell in battle. Also the "North Remembers". I think the Remembering that the North remembers is that only a Stark can lead the Army of the Dead (Others) into battle. I think you will have something similar to the Wheel Of Time's last battle, the LOTR and the battle for Gondor or the Pelenor Fields... The battle of Light and Dark...

Dany -- Army of Dark
Jon -- And the Others the army of Light The bringers of DAWN...

Those would seem to be incredibly important facts to be laying around for just anyone to discover.

Yeah, it wouldn't really make any sense seeing as Ned went to great lengths to keep Jon a secret from everyone, including his wife. If it was recorded in Oldtown, it would essentially be public knowledge. And as far as I know, the only two living people in the books who knew the secret were Ned Stark (who obviously died at the end of the first book) and Howland Reed (who is still alive).

Reed is pretty obviously going to be the one who makes the reveal, as he's the only one who knows and they introduced his character on the show via flashback for a reason.
