The Official Game of Thrones [A Song of Ice and Fire] Thread (includes spoilers)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Who the hell knows, she could be recalling a conversation from 20 years ago.

But, if I'm doing a crack theory, his big new "twist" is Lady Stoneheart just up and offing Jaime, which would be a very George Martin death. You think Jaime has got this big redemption arc coming and, negative. Dead.

More practical one would be Aeron dying and not having a POV that shows us what Euron is up to for a long time.

But I doubt it.

Currently watching Battle of the Bastards.

If ya'll remember, I was meh on the show. Seasons 1-3 were meh. I liked 4, reaaaallly liked 5, and like 6 just a tad less than five.

Hype for this.

I am reading Feast of Crows and man it is a goddamn slog compared to the previous books. Every chapter I am like "Who the fuck cares". It really makes me understand why he is having so much trouble finishing this series. He basically lost the thread and now I realize he split this into 2 books and it was all tangled up.

Wew man. Tell me the show didn't do SOME things right.

Like, I just CANT get myself to care about the Dorne shit. And having Brienne fight the Hound was fan service George needed instead of all the Brienne Does Nothing chapters we got in AFFC.

I will say, though, that the prologue in AFFC is one of the side stories I'm most interested in. WHy a Faceless Man is in Old Town killing squires for a Maester. I'd REALLY like to know the answer to that but, well, I have a feeling I'm not gonna get it.

Ahh hell, you mean this doesn't even come around? It is like the only thing I am interested in. Lol

It totally feels like, "what did they do on the days when nothing was really going on?"

I've been pretty pleased with most of the changes that were made for the show to be honest.

AFFC was rather....sloggy. ADWD is better, particularly the latter half of it. But you can clearly see the massive number of plot threads he's got, and why it is so hard for him to bring them together.

I think the whole reason Sam is there is so we get answers to that question.

No because ADWD runs parallel to AFFC. You get all the characters POVs you didn't get in AFFC. So, no Sam.

I THINK Euron is headed to Old Town, too. But I could absolutely be wrong on that.

I think the whole reason Sam is there is so we get answers to that question.

So my HOPE is that I can find a way to theorize that whatever shit Sam stole in the show is ultimately tied in to the Faceless Men in the books and will help me understand their end game.

We shall see.

NO NEWS, SORRY IF ANYONE GOT EXCITED.

I read GRRM's blog about Fire and Blood and if he's not bullshitting about it I'm actually excited. He CLAIMS we'll find out A) Where Daenerys Dragon Eggs came from and B) Why Valyria became a place no man dared to go after the Doom. I'm VERY interested in the answer to both questions.

Pretty sure it is nuclear weapons.

I just finished a Dance with Dragons. I dunno. Seems pretty clear the direction things are going in. Can't believe he could just leave it like that for so long. Now that the show has fleshed out some of the plotlines, it should be pretty stright forward I think to finihs with a few variations.

Obviously, the Dorne stuff hit a wall with both Viserys and now Quentyn dying. Now you have Adrienne left. I did kind of want to see if Prince Doran ever gets anything out of his plotting. Seems he waits too long to act all the time missing the perfect time waiting for the perfect time.

I am actually pretty into Victarion. Having that hot arm is pretty cool. It is nice to have more actors on the side of the lord of light in the book. From the overall look you are getting from the followers of the lord of light, it is hard to believe he is a good god. Who is the other god against him, is it the Night King? That guy seems evil too though. The White Walkers are more mysterious in the book. Have to say I was pretty disappointed Jon didn't have that big fight at Hard Home. That was one of my favorites in the show because it really hit home about what kind f threat they were, but also that they could be fought.

The Lady Stoneheart thing is weird. She is a straight up Zombie, but it is interesting that the sort of revenge parts of Kat that set the whole thing off in the first place continue to wreak havoc.

Really like how they dealt with Drogon's appearance in the show. It actually made a lot more sense than the storyline in the book. Just seems convoluted for Tyrion and Mormont to escape to the second sons. It would have been better if they came back in the slave pits like in the show. I liked the Dornishmen trying to steal the dragons and Quentyn getting his eyeballs melted. Just kind of set up how the Dragons liking Jon Snow was a big deal later.

Sad that beefy occultist Maester didn't show up in Dnac eof Dragons at any time. Would have been nice to see him arriving there from Old town at the same time as Victarion and Dany coming back with the Dothraki. You are right that was a good storyline with the pig being a faceless man and Sam thinking he is suspicious.

No I fully agree the followers of the Lord of Light are bad. I think the books + show have given us enough to conclude that shit. Not just what they've acyually done, but the music that plays when theyre on screen.

Go read the Aeron TWOW chapter. You'll find on a guy named poorquentyns blog on Tumblr. Just type in like Aeron 1 Twow and you'll find it. Its my favorite chapter in the books and will give you a LOT of ideas about the emd game

Euron looks loke the REAL bad guy in the books.

HBO ran the annual coming next year video and there was some new footage of Thrones... of Jon/Aegon and Sansa hugging. Jon/Aegon back in Winterfell confirmed! Ah well, at least it's something. Hoping we get a trailer in a few months.

I mean the big question to me is Jon Snow bad. IF the Lord of light is bad, is something secretly compelling Jon Snow to be the catalyst to his bad ends? That would mean the Night King is good, which on the surface, he doesn't seem to be. However, maybe those theories that Bran is the Night King are real and Bran knows what's up and is trying to actually set everything right. Would make sense that he keeps letting Jon Snow escape.

I don't think the Lord of Light actually exists. I think something or someone else is manipulating people while pretending to be a god who grants visions.
