Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Tristan has long been my favorite Cavalier so I probably get more upset than I should when people trash him after a meaningless regular season game (most of the time he even plays WELL in the regular season, but it'll be a game where we score a small amount of points and TT will be 2-7 or something and people will lash out that he has no offensive talent as if that is even close to his role)

Anyway, the words overpaid and Tristan Thompson do NOT go together. Tristan might honestly have one of the BEST non rookie deals in the NBA right now. Another postseason where he absolutely feasts on opposing front courts and breaks another teams will. He's getting MUCH better at finishing around the rim. He is strong as a fucking ox

He never misses games. The guy is as dependeble as they come. And the only time his thread gets bumped in the regular season is when people tell him who he shouldn't be dating or saying that he sucks.

I know the same shit will happen next year, but this is 3 straight playoffs where TT has been absolutely phenomenal. He should get significantly more respect for what he does. And people should get over that he dates a damn kardashian. He just had his best season as a pro and is destroying teams again int he playoffs. There's no fucking curse

All basketball players are overpaid. The cost of going to a game is insane, but that is a different story.

But when compared to other players, no Tristan is not over paid.

Personally I wish Tristan would take more jumpers during the regular season to see if he can make that shot. He seems to be able to make an 11 foot jumper but limmits himself on offense.

In the playoffs, no way, but if he could get a reputation for taking and making the shot should open things up.

Just saying, like to see it.

But to take those shots, he'd have to vacate the paint. For his style of constant physicality, the screens and the positioning on offense, that's a concern.

Just the 10 foot Udonis Haslem baseline jumper. Just get that one down and it'll be an occasional bailout play for us.

Well he makes that shot routinely when he has it with 1 sec. It just doesn't happen much. I get your point that he doesn't often make the other team pay with his offense, but hell there was his 20 point game against Boston and he usually scores when he is actually given the shots.

Exactly the shot i was referring to, simple 10-12 foot shot...nothing more. Just outside the paint. Dont want him doing any more.

At one point, he had a solid elbow jumper he was working on.

Yeah I remember those reports too as well as seeing him like 2-3 in a few games at the very end of a season...

Then LeBron came back and Tristan's already-existing game became a perfect fit for a roster with 3 offensive stars.

This feels like an equivalent of the Riley meeting back in 2009-2010

"They even stopped in Miami for Game 6 of the Finals -- the Ray Allen game -- because James, who shares an agent with Thompson, suggested Thompson experience the intensity of the Finals firsthand. "LeBron said if I ever wanted to be a champion, I had to see what I was missing," Thompson said. He sat in the same seat for Game 7."

TT is one of those rare guy's who's skill set doesn't shine until the playoffs. His game is marginalized in the regular season and then magnified in the post-season. He's just a grinder...his game would've been welcomed in the NBA in any era.
