Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Who would have thought TT would be as important to a championship team as this? Remember when people questioned who the hell he was & why we drafted him at 4?

New Lowe article about TT- I love seeing an underappreciated player finally getting the national recognition he deserves.

Just another reason Lowe is the best in the business right now.
I just read that article, then came here to post it, lol. Great article.
I was one of those who thought Cavs overpaid, after his holdout I said 'at least he's durable'. So very wrong about the overpay, he is a crucial piece, couldn't compete for the title without him.

It was hard to know the cap would jump so much the next year too. He is really good at playing specific opponents. He gameplans for them, and he can grow over the course of a series, and that is really valuable.

Remember when he used to the most blocked big man at the rim?

Or when he used to literally never pass off offensive rebounds and go back up no matter what?

Hes gotten so much better its amazing.

me included.

tbh we sort of got lucky that the league shifted to need a center that was mobile, and he's basically useless on offense so his only goal is to rebound. Ball rolled the right way for both us and tt.

Rebounding is apart of offense. So I wouldn't call that useless.

And like the article said he's gotten pretty damn good at finding the open man when he gets that board.

He used to get owned by guys like Drummond and Valanciunas, and now he doesn't. It wasn't just the league changed. There are still a couple of guys that give him trouble due to size, like Gobert, but who doesn't he give trouble to?

Sort of like Andy couldn't do shit to a true center like Dwight in 2009, and then by 2011 or 2012 he was looking great against guys like that. A lot of that is experience.

That Orlando series still pisses me off. Dwight was magically hitting all of his FTs that series and roided up Rashard Lewis couldn't miss a damn shot.

Oh yea I entirely agree. I mean insofar as scoring.

Hes not useless at offense, but by having significantly limited potential in other parts of the offense it frees him up entirely to focus on rebounding.

Me too but mainly because that was the end of Delonte West being an NBA player. Part of me still thinks that series is what sent him over the edge. He was trying until the very last second when it was clear even LBJ had given up.

I remember the play in Game 5 where he went all out ala Rodman for a loose ball near the end of the game, got to the ball first, but the tip somehow got to the one Magic player who is in the middle of a bunch of Cavs. That bounce cost a critical possession: all the bounces went against us. Delonte was a hell of a player when his head was on straight

When?
He never consistently got owned by either.

TT struggled against vets. not his peers.

Tristan an Andre were starting against each other up until 01/15/2015 when mozgov took the starting spot.

Anytime you consistently hold a guy under 50% who takes nothing but shots in the paint.. your doing pretty good.

and JV?

JV has always been Tristans bitch

Good.

Andre's fg% doesn't go down until last year, which was what I thought. I really meant that traditional centers gave him trouble in any case, but they really don't anymore. I guess I picked the wrong examples. 2 things have happened

#1 Love doesn't need help as much as he did

#2 TT is a lot stronger than when he showed up

I'm just wondering, how the hell TT doesn't see Harden's Ghastly Grill when he is "With" Khloe?
I know I couldn't.
