Tyronn Lue has been fired

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Jose Calderon to start in place of Rose?
SO many starting lineup options for this team and Lue goes with Calderon.

Well he did put up 18 against Orlando in pre season and can shoot. He’s terrible on d but he’s a professional PG.

and Lue has so many better options for a starting lineup without inserting Calderon.
JR Smith, Korver, Thompson, even Shump.

Cavs will win because its Orlando with DJ Augustin at Point probably but the Cavs already have non Rose lineups where a true point isn't needed.

I'm fine with Calderon starting. I doubt he gets heavy minutes. Lue likely wants to keep JR and the other guys on the bench to start to get them used to their roles. If we start cycling players in and out of the starting lineup it could throw things off. Besides, we're playing Orlando.

OR...it could make it painfully obvious how much BETTER the starting lineup is with JR.

But hey, lets just keep wasting our shooting and keep it out of the starting lineup.

Our shooting and spacing will be fine. When IT comes back we will have IT/Crowder/LeBron/Love in the starting lineup, all capable of shooting 3s. We'll have JR and Korver to bring in off the bench. JR will be effective not having to play 30+ minutes a night and playing with the second unit will let him be more of a playmaker

your implying that JR smith was not effective playing 30 minutes a night. ...

JR being effective has nothing to do with how many minutes he is playing. HE can be ffective off the bench or as a starter because he is a pretty good player.

There are players in the league that are more effective playing 15-20 Minutes a night. On the Cavs roster those players happen to be in the starting lineup.

There is no way you can think that JR playing 20 mins is a good thing.

Also, we don't get IT back for 3 months.

So why the fuck would we not play our best lineups now, and then worry about Thomas IF he returns healthy.

Half of that

Bingo. It's Orlando. Look how many open looks Korver got last night. He won't see those in the EFC and Finals.

Calderon, like Korver, are good to great (Korver) regular season players. Orlando stinks.

IT may be back before Christmas. 6-9 weeks...

I think putting Calderon in is going to make it super obvious how important spacing is. Let me guess. Wade gets some great dunks
