Tyronn Lue has been fired

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Agree, but one game. A game he picked up two quick fouls in. And a game in which we're breaking in multiple new players and ballhandlers. If it's a month long trend I will share your concern 100%
Listen, Lue sucks. The sooner you accept this, the better off you'll be.

He can "hold the players accountable" all he wants, the fact remains he has no idea what the hell hes doing when it comes to X/O's on defense or offense, not to mention rotations, Love is again just a floor spacer and is not used as a passer.

All of these things are way more important than "holding players accountable", we need a coach that understands defense and modern NBA offense which is based around team ball and man movement, not the absolute shit show that was this game..

It was hard to watch looked like a bunch of randoms playing together at the park doing wtf they want, luckily one of them just happens to be one of the greatest players of all time so we barley won the game.

Amen and AMEN!!!! Why is this so difficult to understand? You have guys getting paid millions of dollars that can't seem to grasp this SMFH

Ok, thanks for the fantastic analysis.

And no, just your convenient scapegoat and boogeyman magnified by the paranoia and mindfuckery that the Warriors have cast on to all NBA fans. He's not infallible. Has room to grow. Have never once said he's a top8 coach yet. But while, as with all coaches there are things to question and critique, there is simply nothing in this 160 game(inc playoffs) resume that even comes close to indicting him as a "horrible coach" or "Lue Sucks yet. Carry on.

The lower minutes due to foul trouble doesn't affect field goals per possession/per 100 possessions. When he was in the game he wasn't getting enough looks. More looks were going to much less efficient players; which is a problem and must be remedied immediately.

Good point and agreed. And it was either the first or second thing Lue addressed in the post game presser.

There are things he needs to do as coach to remedy and address it, but there is also an equal responsibility on the ballhandlers and Love himself.

I'd put most of it on Rose and Lue. We will see how this plays out, it's very easy to monitor.

This is why I preach at least 10-20 game patience. Some of it is that players are who they are and can't deviate from that too much. But part is also just timing, experience playing together, playing in a new offense etc. I don't expect to see a miraculous change by Rose but at least an uptick in understanding where guys spots are and how to get new teammates involved.

Also, when IT gets back, it will reset that a bit, but long term, IT/Love is a better offensive pairing than Rose/Love and Rose on the second unit pushing the ball should maximize the few offensive strenghts that Green and TT have on offense.

If we want to get away from LeBron ISO as our prime, main playmaking default, than I completely understand having Rose in the starting lineup until IT returns.

I hate seeing how all the movement and passing goes the way of the Dodo when the ball goes up in the air. Once they are really playing they revert to the same old stuff. The 2nd quarter was the only really good one. The bench played good d and moved the ball.

Kevin Love last night per 100:

25.8 PPG on .621 TS
18.9 RPG

team ORTG 117
team DRTG 99

Yeah, he absolutely didn't get enough shots. Rose and Green were getting more shots up per 100 despite converting at a dreadful rate.

This team should be about LeBron, IT (when he gets back), Love, Crowder, JR. Instead coach and LeBron have made the team about LeBron, Rose, Wade, Crowder, Love.
I think including Wade in that was a necessary evil. He has to be elevated to leader status because he's one of the few guys LeBron will listen to and he isn't afraid to let Lebron have it.

I wish LeBron could be less bias/emotional and instead logical in situations like this. Wade can still be a voice but he needs to chnage the way he plays to fit the modern NBA. LeBron is held accountable to those same standards. If Wade wants to make less changes to his game then he needs to accept reduced minutes in a bench role.

I agree. That's where the coach needs to step in and explain that, but, well, Ty Lue probably isn't going to.

Lue has an absolutely elite ATO play success ratio(way higher than Stevens)but he doesn't know his Xs and Os? That's literally impossible. Lue draws up gem after gem after gem that constantly produces wide open shots from all over the court. Seems like a solid X and O guy to me...

Our D was actually pretty good last night overall. And a coach can only do so much about sloppy uninspired turnovers from your best players...

Listen, I was head scratching at some of the lineup choices particularly with Green and Shumpert together, and I don't claim Lue is Gregg Popovich...

But your bias shows when you make ignorant claims like "he has no idea about offense, defense, Xs and Os, rotations, accountability blah blah"

It's like some people think Mike Brown or Byron Scott is still on the sidelines...yikes...

I don't think Lue is a bad coach. He's still very young and early in his career. And he's had a lot of great moments. He's great in terms of managing personalities (winning a title when your #2 guy obviously secretly resented and hated everything about your best player, team, organization, and dirt is pretty impressive work) And this team right here over the next 80+ games is going to be a very good project for him to show what he can do. Im interested to see how we look in about 3 months from now. It will tell us a lot more about Lue than we know.

My problems are mostly with his lineups/rotations. We do run some good plays. Less Jr due to injury is nothing he can do. Playing Rose and Wade together is all him. That third quarter line up with no LeBron or Crowder out there with Korver and Green was just a disaster. Anybody could have predicted that lineup would fail.

Last night we had an overall drtg of 98.7 which is outstanding. The lineups we ran drug down the offense which was the real problem.

Last year was tough to judge because so many pieces were changed and added at various points of the season due to trades, signings, and injuries.

-Mo expected to be backup PG, Mo retires in a suprise
-Kay as the only backup(an unplayable one) until March
-Dunleavy a busted move
-Birdman injured.
-JR holdout, JR injury
-Love injury
-Korver trade
-Deron, Bogut signings. Bogut injury.-etc.

To top it off, after JR/Love returned from injury, we hit a stretch of 17 games in 31 nights, i.e. no practices, only walk throughs.

This year, barring something strange, the whole team was assembled by training camp. Even though IT still has to return, he's already here, with the team, watching the team, building chemistry, learning the sets, etc.

This season, after completed, will give a much better opportunity for analysis and judgement of the early stage of Lue's coaching career.
