Sacramento Kings

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Sacramento Kings (get us that draft pick)

I feel like almost any trade that the raps made that got Rudy Gay the hell out of town was a good one for them. Ujiri has been trying to clear house for a while. I've been a fan of Ujiri ever since the Carmelo debacle. Now that they got that albatross out of the way they can get their tank on.

Not so sure about that. Trading Gay probably makes them better. Ball already moving much better.

Re: Sacramento Kings (get us that draft pick)

I feel so bad for Cousins. I swear I'm going to read the newspaper and find out Gay got punched in the face for taking 25 jumpers.

You know the headline will make it sound like a hate crime:

Cousins punches Gay !!

Re: Sacramento Kings (trade for Rudy Gay)

I may be in the minority here but I like what the Kings are doing. Bringing in a couple of high-risk / high-reward players is how small market teams sneak up on the rest of the league. Either the Williams and Gay work out and the Kings make a push for the eighth seed or it fails and they end up high in the lottery of a deep draft. It sort of reminds me of when they traded for Webber. He was considered a locker room cancer and the Kings were a perennial joke. But, for whatever reason, they were a perfect match and it ended up being the move that spring-boarded them into eventually being a title contender.

If Gay ends up being a flop and Williams confirms his bust status, then they could be in line for Wiggins or Parker. Plus, they got someone to take John Salmons and Chuck Hayes; two guys who are throw-aways who will be out of the NBA in a year or two.

Re: Sacramento Kings (trade for Rudy Gay)

The really nice part is that Williams and Gay are interchangeable at the 3 and 4. Thomas and Mclemore will keep Gay on the pick and roll reducing his 20 foot+ shots.

I like the trade I think Williams and gay combo will mask each others weaknesses

Re: Sacramento Kings (trade for Rudy Gay)

Anyone else give a sigh of relief when rudy was traded, it means the cavs cant panic trade for him now.

Re: Sacramento Kings (trade for Rudy Gay)

Vasquez is going to look good in Toronto. Jonas is smiling after this trade.

Re: Sacramento Kings (trade for Rudy Gay)

I get that the Raptors needed to move Gay, but you need to get at least one solid prospect out of the deal. They got a bunch of trash imo. Patterson is something positive, but they got a bunch of players they don't need. I didn't look at the contracts, but I hope they are at least getting some expirings.

Vasquez is very underrated along with the fact they need a replacement PG after they lose Lowry this offseason. Plus yes, they get cap relief through Salmons who has a Team Option for next season making him a guaranteed expiring.

Patterson complements Amir Johnson and Valanciunas, he'll create space for both including Derozan. Vasquez could start alongside Lowry. I like the trade.

Dude... I wanted to get Gay!

Re: Sacramento Kings (trade for Rudy Gay)

I watched that Rap/Laker game last night and Toronto may have played their best game without Gay inefficiently chucking so many shots. Some of their bigs actually got touches and Amir Johnson had his best scoring night of the season. Maybe Mike Malone can get Gay to buy into a role at Sacramento but it might be addition by subtraction at this point for the Raptors.

The Kings seem to be mishmashing things together at this point. Derrick Williams and Gay are both castoffs from other teams and they will likely be the starting forwards next to Cousins. Thomas and McLemore are young kids in the backcourt. Hope Malone can get them all to buy in and eventually start winning some games. Unfortunately they've really missed badly on some of their lottery picks the past few years.
