It's pretty funny how far Rudy Gay's value has fallen. Three years ago, he was getting signed to an 80 million dollar deal. Now, you can't even get a single draft pick for the guy.

Kings will have to think hard about if Gay should start or come off the bench.

I think Gay will help them, and they dont need a lot of help to make the playoffs. Cousins is playing to his potential, and they finally recognized that Thomas is the best point guard on the team. When Williams plays well, they are pretty good, so why not add a wing who can score consistently. To my mind, I think it makes more sense to bring McLemore off the bench, in that he will be better against the second squad of opposing teams. I think with Malone at the helm, this level of talent can compete for a playoff spot, and if they could somehow add Omer Asik to the list, I think the talent level would be middle of the pack.

question is would you move cousins to the 4 to accomodate asiks " i will only go where I start" attitude.

If the Kings move Williams to the 4, and run with Thomas-McLemore-Gay-Williams-Cousins, that is one interesting lineup.

Don't know how good it'll be, but it'll be fun.

This doesn't feel like a trade with a clear winner and loser. Toronto lost more talent than they got back, but their contract situation and talent combination wasn't working. Gay and Derozan were too similar and neither player makes others better.

Sacramento had to admit Vasquez wasn't as good as they hoped, but they get the most talented individual for the second time in a month. Malone is swapping out a lot of personalities who have been engrained in a losing culture in Sacramento. They still don't look like a playoff team in the West, but this should help change the Sacramento culture.

You nailed the premise for trade, perfectly.

They actually had a full lineup. I found it interesting they put favors at center to match the kings speed. that lineup is 4-2. apparently Kanter is in a 6th man role for now.

Even the kings don't think we will ever get the pick. That is why there was so much protection on it. I hope we can use it in a trade before anyone else realizes it will be a 2nd rounder.

i disagree once it's top 10 protected (after this season) there's a good chance we will get it and yes i agree with you we will probably use it in a trade before 2015...
