2014 NFL Draft Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Williams is ok, but there are about six or seven running backs whose skillset matches what I'd think Shanahan is looking for offensively.

If we draft Watkins, who I like, with Clowney on the board, I am going to be livid. I just hope 1 of Clowney, Bortles, or Bridgewater are there at #4. Those 3 have a chance (not all probable, but a chance) to be something special.

If Gordon screws up a drug test, this is the time of year it would most likely happen... back home with his old crew, getting into old habits.

Pretty much where I'm at as well. I already posted my order of preference, but those guys are definitely my top 3 and then the next tier is way below them. I don't care what kind of numbers Clowney had this previous season. I'm really confident that he's going to be a game changer wherever he ends up. If we can't land one of the 2 QBs who are worth a top pick then Clowney would be a great consolation prize. Just imagining him under a defensive mind like Pettine has me kind of moist.

Im with smooth as well. Having 2 elite level wr takes the pressure off the QB and puts whoever you have throwing the ball in a position to succeed easier. Plus it adds insurance in case Gordon messes up again.

I don't see the love for Cooks. He may be a better receiver but what does he bring to the table that's light years ahead of what Travis Benjamin can?

I'd also love to see them get an over the middle sure handed guy like Landry in the 2nd-3rd round. Gordon/Watkins/Landry/Cameron would be a helluva bunch.
There's an idea. Let's get insurance for our pothead receiver by drafting ANOTHER pothead receiver!

Watkins may have some pot stuff in his past (BTW I don't think that's uncommon among football players or college students in general) but he's also not facing a year long ban with a misstep.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not judging the guy for smoking pot. Just funny that people suggest a guy that was stupid enough to get caught with it once is being seen as an insurance policy.

Don't discredit people's ability to kick something like that. Example: Megatron,

Whoa, we'll see if that's confirmed.

There has been some talk of the Browns not interviewing QBs at the combine but it's mostly been batted around over the last day or 2. MF Jones had the story back on Feb 23rd. RIP.

Now, let's see if the Schaub thing has any legs...

I'm not sure what to make of the thought of them not taking a QB in the first few picks (if they're available). But obviously them not talking to any of the QBs mean that is a realistic option.

I like Hoyer a lot, but just would feel comfortable with another QB... and I hope it isn't Schaub haha. Youth would be better. If their route is not taking a QB at 4, I'd rather them go after Garoppolo.

Not prioritizing the QB position?

We've seen this end result before.

We've seen this end result before.

Problem is, we've taken the best fit for our team and not BPA before, and that has hurt too.

I'm def. taking Bortles or Bridgewater if either are there. There is just a chance they might not be.

I'm far more concerned about what b00bie said. I don't think them falling to the Browns is the concern, it is the fact that, even if they're there, they won't take them period.

Clemson Pro Day to be televised by ESPN3 on Thursday

If Clowney is on the board, I'd prefer to pass on or trade the rights to him. He's a physical freak, and a loafer. His numbers are incredibly inconsistent. He's best known one big game against Clemson. He's completely untested in coverage. He's going to need to stand up in our defense a lot of the time, we don't know if he can, everyone just assumes it because hes fast. I just have doubts about whether he's going to give the effort to reach all that potential.

I would rather have Watkins, who I think is best suited for a secondary role and should excel playing across from Gordon. I would also prefer Khalil Mack if we were to go for a rusher. I like Mike Evans too, but I'd prefer to move back a little, if possible, to take him.
