Should look at this guy in the 3rd explosive...

1+1=2?

I think Moncrief could end up in the late first or early second. Of course some are bound to fall with the depth of the class but Moncrief has some serious potential.

Also, courtesy consultant? Is that precedented?

I'm not really a Watkins guy, but he apparently had one of the best pro days ever.

I want this kid so bad...Dc that we have Gordon!

I mean, it would be incredible. But you better have a shit load of faith in Hoyer + (Carr? Sopranoppolo?), if you draft him at #4.

This is great news. Hopefully it pushes Watkins to a team ahead of us and leaves Bortles or Bridgewater there. Worst case scenario is we haaaave to pick him because he's still there for us without any qbs, which is still a good deal.

Then we sign Schaub, at least you know someone is going to catch his passes. Our stud recieving corp or the other team... :chuckles:

I know this won't go over well, but I like Mike Evans just as much, if not more than Sammy Watkins. I love me some big WR's. Evans and Jordan Cameron in the red zone would just be dominant. Mike Evans is the reason a lot of Johnny Manziel's "magical plays" exist. The guy is just an absolute beast with his size. Even when he is covered, he is going to come down with a well thrown ball more than not because of his height and strength.

If getting a second WR is really our goal at the top of the draft (doubtful), I'd love to try to trade down to 6-10 and pick up an extra pick or two and take Evans instead of Watkins.

Agreed. He has average speed which I didn't expect and he ran such crisp routes with such natural catching ability at the combine. I think Evans is the best receiver of the bunch and if both qb's are gone, I would not be mad to "reach" and take him at 4 even if we cant trade down.

Evans may have ok straight line speed, but watching him cut in and out of routes is often painful.

IMO he's not nearly a complete enough wide receiver to justify his draft position, but he'll always have a role in the NFL as a big target and a redzone weapon.

See that? You fuck up for 15 straight years, the NFL awards the franchise to a possible felon, and finally somebody high up will do you a solid.

Not sure why Chad freaking Henne would keep them from taking Bortles/Bridgewater at #3, but let's hope this is true (I doubt it is)

Also, a little clarification from Daniel Jeremiah RE: Browns interest in Derek Carr:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Just now <a href="https://twitter.com/MoveTheSticks">@MovetheSticks</a> clarified the <a href="https://twitter.com/Browns">@Browns</a> tie to Derek Carr comment....said it was based on the old Banner/Lombardi regime, Not Farmer</p>&mdash; Nathan Zegura (@NathanZegura) <a href="https://twitter.com/NathanZegura/statuses/442021042937413632">March 7, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

I don't get it, didn't Jeremiah come out with the Carr interest news after Lombardi & Banner were gone?

The b00bie of the Jags message board world just had his head explode.

Jags story - Wow I hope that is true. That is a DREAM scenario for us. But knowing CLE, it's a lie and we will pick that fuck from Michigan and I will drown myself in Fireball.

Watkins - Love to hear this. Just in case that Jags story is bullshit, if Watkins falls to us you gotta pull it. I have a feeling a ton of teams will give up a bunch to move up and grab Watkins. Maybe that is something to look into.

Evans - I like him. His size as you pointed out would be amazing in the red zone to pair with Cameron. But I would rather have Gordon/Watkins/Cameron down the WHOLE field instead of Gordon/Evans/Cameron in the RZ.

Still hoping for Bortles or BW, but we have to keep an eye on Watkins. Either be draft or someone giving up a bunch to move up. (it would have to be a BUNCH for me to trade away from him)

I think the fact that there's three players that could be truly elite (Watkins, Robinson, Clowney), it isn't inconceivable that the elite position player would be worth more than potentially reaching for a QB they aren't totally sure of..... I mean, all the QB's have question marks which make them bigger risks. It's part of the reason I don't see a QB going to the Browns at 4; Farmer not wanting to risk a dud with his first ever pick as GM-- take the elite player first, worry about fit or depth later, especially for a young GM.
