2014 NBA Playoffs Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It is almost unimaginable how good the Spurs are! I never thought a team could dominate so bad in the Western Conference finals! It is ALMOST to boring to watch they are so good. I see the Spurs sweeping and then having a lot of rest to face whoever comes out of the East. With the Pacers / Heat series, I see them just beating on each other and tiring each other out. I don't see anyone beating these Spurs with how they are playing!

Dallas took them to 7.

They played a Portland team lucky to make it out the 1st round. Houston would've given them a real challenge imo.

This is OKC without Ibaka. I don't put any stock into this series.

Unless one of the Spurs falls over dead in the next three weeks, this playoffs is over. Hand the trophy over to the Spurs. They were the best team during the regular season and they seem even better now. If healthy, they're unbeatable with home court.

You must have some sort of agenda against the Spurs if you think what they have done so far in the playoffs is nothing short of remarkable. Portland is eons ahead of Brooklyn or Charlotte, and probably not far behind Indiana, yet San Antonio took them to the woodshed. Obviously I can't prove it, but I feel pretty safe in saying Miami would have had a long, hard fought series against Portland, just as I think any team not named San Antonio would have.

Dallas was an anomaly, and I've been saying it all along. It was never really a series in doubt. Dallas came into the playoffs having been in playoff mode for over a month, while SA had the top seed locked up and coasted into the playoffs. Naturally it took them a couple games to turn it up a notch. As the series went on, they kicked it into gear and come game 7, they showed us they were never in any real danger. Shit, if Carter doesn't hit a miracle shot that series is over in 5.

It is unfortunate that Ibaka is out, but even so, they are demolishing a team with 2 of the top 10 players in the league. They are head and shoulders above anybody else in the league right now, it's not even close.

I'm not usually one for predictions, but... Spurs in 4 if they face Indiana. 5 if Miami (assuming good health of course). This could be the best Spurs team of the Pop/Duncan era.

Dallas would have been the 3rd seed in the East and won 49 games. Plus they were every bit the veteran team the Spurs are.

Portland had the best record in the NBA through the first 1/3 of the season so they were not a pushover

Serge Ibaka is a good player, but he is the third best on that team. They still have Durant and Westbrook and are getting blown out by 29. That says more about the Spurs than it does about OKC.

This is just...REALLY far off base.

Uh oh....

Game three status is uncertain.

I came on here to celebrate the Spurs dominance, but, this, WTF??? It often takes closer to 10 days or even 2 weeks to clear for concussions now...they implemented strict concussion protocols, what, this year, or last. Does anyone have video of this Wade knee to Paul George's head?

PS- I do. How in @#%^'s sake is this not a major news story??

Why did you bring up Miami and the rest of those Eastern Conference teams?

I was pointing out how the Spurs playoff run hasn't been all that impressive to me.

Had the Clippers advanced to the WCF, I would've picked them to beat the Spurs. Had OKC not lost Ibaka, I would've had OKC beating the Spurs. Ibaka's lost is being felt whether people want to admit it or not. The Spurs are scoring in the paint in record levels. With Ibaka I think the series would've been way more competitive with OKC winning in 6 or 7.

They're not head and shoulders above everyone else in the league. I guess you'll see such in the Finals because as it stands OKC can't give them a challenge. Spurs will win this series handily but I don't think they'll beat up on whichever team comes out of the East, whether it's Miami or Indiana.

Uhhmmmm because there is no way he doesn't play? Lol. Biggest game of his life. Jesus couldn't keep him from suiting up.

Serge is OKC's rim protector. Their only rim protector. The Spurs are beating up on the Thunder in the paint. The vast majority of their points are coming in the paint, way moreso than usual. I think it says more about how much Serge means to OKC than the quality of the Spurs team.

Surprised by that. The Clippers would get swept by the Spurs just like they did 2 years ago. I wasn't impressed with the Clippers, either. Neither they nor the Thunder have been that great. Their series seemed to come down to which team wanted to blow the game. The Spurs aren't flashy, but they plug people in and make it work. Even the scrubs the Spurs have out there now are destroying OKC's bench.
