2014 NBA Playoffs Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
They are a good team, they wouldn't win 58 games, or whatever it was from not being good. They don't need a major overhaul to their roster, just some tweaks. Perkins has GOT to go, I think that should be goal number one. Removing him from the roster, the guy is just a liability to Westbrook and Durant. He does more bad than good for that team.

I think Ibaka going down showed how worthless Perkins really is. His "suppose" defensive presence is clearly overrated. He's a solid defender, a guy you have on your team as your third or fourth big in a rotation at best, to go in there and throw his body around for about 15 minute a game. He's not game changing in any way.

They need to find a guy that can score about 10-13 a night, easy buckets around the rim, to take pressure off Westbrook and Durant. They don't need a dominate low post scorer, very few exist in the league any way. Just someone that can give their team easy buckets, and forces the defense to be accountable for that player. I think that would help out Westbrook and Durant a lot.

I agree they could use an upgrade with their coach. I doubt they go that direction. Brooks probably has earned the benefit of the doubt. There's no shame in losing to the Spurs. They were the best team in the NBA, and Brooks or no Brooks, I just don't think they were the better team.

There's flaws and problems on their roster that need fixed. That's the one thing you can say in favor of Brooks. I don't think he's underachieved really, even if he has deficiencies as a coach that I do agree he has.

Fire Scott Brooks for what?

Being a coach who doesn't design plays, doesn't make adjustments, and is just generally carried by the fact that he has two of the top ten players in the league on his roster. I would rather have Mike Brown than Scott Brooks.

If I may ask, what adjustment should Brooks have made? HE didn't have his 3rd best player the 1st two games. He moved Jackson into the starting line-up and DNP'd the ineffective Sefolosha. He started playing Adams more.

For the record Steven Adams has some potential, but is little more than an energy big, and finds a way to impact games. I wanted him when he was drafted.

Embiid has expotentially more upside. I can only imagine the impact he will have.

Maybe run some offensive sets. Start there.

It is unfortunate that Ibaka is out, but even so, they are demolishing a team with 2 of the top 10 players in the league. They are head and shoulders above anybody else in the league right now, it's not even close.

I'm not usually one for predictions, but... Spurs in 4 if they face Indiana. 5 if Miami (assuming good health of course). This could be the best Spurs team of the Pop/Duncan era.

Yes, I called all of this early in the WCF. Feel free to hit me up if you want anymore brilliant basketball knowledge dropped on ya :chuckles:
