Wallace, Wally, Delonte, Joe Smith to Cavs

Wow, this ended up being a great trade as far as I'm concerned. I don't know how much longer I could watch Gooden be 9 feet out of position on defense. The West instead of Duhon part clinched it for me.

Playing the Bulls four more times this year could be very interesting...

I was driving around in Chicago just after deadline and the Chicago sports radio guys were saying that they thought it was great to get rid of Ben Wallace, but that overall it was a big win for the Cavs. They weren't too pumped about it.

Good work Ferry, I can now start spelling your name right again.
 
I also got booted. RealGM came in handy during that time. ;)


Oh and screw Bucher and Aldridge and Steven A. and everyone else who said the Cavs didnt have the pieces to get anything done, and that no other major trades were going to go down. A-Holes.
 
So are we going to start Wallace or Joe Smith at PF?

I really really hope we start Smith and use Wallace to back up Z, while AV backs up Smith.

I like this deal. The Cavs will be huge up front. They should have the rebounding edge on every team in the East. Wallace is a ballhawk on the boards.

Wally will probably shoot more consistently than Hughes. It's great to finally get rid of ballhog Larry.

I was hoping for a better PG than West, but he's the best we can get now I guess. All in all, not a bad deal.
 
I would guess that we try starting Wallace first. This trade could work out really well if he comes in motivated and returns closer to his old form.

My guess is
PG - West
SG - Wally
SF - Lebron
PF - Wallace
C - Z

I wouldn't be surprised to see Wally come off the bench when Sasha is healthy. The reason being Sasha is a better defender and we know how Coach Brown likes defense. Plus Wally, Gibson, Brown and Varejao would bring a lot of scoring and energy off the bench.

We are pretty undermanned right now. Andy is apparently going to come back this weekend, but who knows how much he can go. Sasha is still out and Windhorst reportedly said that the injury to Gibson is pretty bad and could keep him out awhile. If the traded players don't arrive and pass physicals quickly, we may have trouble fielding a lineup. Just imagine a starting lineup of Jones-PG, Brown-SG, James-SF, Dw. Jones-PF, Z-C, with a healthy bench of Snow and Andy, Gibson, and Sasha injured but activated? Yikes!

isn't it absolutely amazing that we can actually have that choice to make?! That is a great problem to have.

Props to Ferry:
Went from around 24 million in expirings next year to close to 29 million in expirings.

With that kind of cash we can bring in 2 Gasol like contracts: :drool:

Plus Joe Smith is having a great year: he's outplayed Gooden. With AV, Gooden, Wallace, and Z our frontcourt will be great

Losing Hughes defense sucks but hell yea we get West and Wally to throw next to Boobie
 
Now for the tough question.... who where's #3? Ben, Wally or Sasha? :)
