" if anyone has insider could you please give a summary of what is there or post the article. Though i fully expect it to be just what we already know, im hoping its new information.

Thanks in advance

Re: Request for ESPN insider article "Help for Cavs in the works?"

Cleveland Cavaliers
They're still desperately trying to upgrade the team. One league source told ESPN.com that they're making one last push to try to acquire Mike Miller and Kyle Lowry from the Grizzlies. They don't have much to offer, so to sweeten the pot they are willing to take back Brian Cardinal as part of a deal. Memphis has been trying to push him in a deal for a while, but haven't found any takers on the remaining $13 million left on his contract after this season.

The deal, as described to me by a player agent, would send Miller, Cardinal and Lowry to Cleveland for Ira Newble, Donyell Marshall, Shannon Brown, Cedric Simmons and Dwayne Jones along with cash and at least one first-round pick from Cleveland. If the Cavs can pull that off, it would be an immediate upgrade of their roster. But they face stiff competition for the services of Miller and Lowry from a number of teams.

Sounds great, also far fetched.

Said the same about the Gasol trade though.

We all know Ferry is working to get something done but we also know our assets dont become as attractive until this summer.

Re: Request for ESPN insider article "Help for Cavs in the works?"

I really, really like that deal described above. We only get rid of one of our big expiring deals and get rid of both of our expirings for this season and acquire HUGE help.

We get a big time shooter and scorer at the 2 guard and someone who can tremendously help our defensive penetration and is a developing point guard in Lowry.

Re: Request for ESPN insider article "Help for Cavs in the works?"

though only problem i would have with that trade is its a lot of big men to be giving up. basically numbers 4-6 on the team are including with a cardinal coming back. But this is just me nit-picking overall i would do it (hopefully it would only involve 1 first rounder)

Re: Request for ESPN insider article "Help for Cavs in the works?"

Two things that concern me..

One, we just give up two roster spots in doing that deal. What players are out there for us to pick up to make up that and the loss of some big men.

Two, how long is Cardinals deal for? I know he has a horrible horrible deal money wise, but what is the length on it?

Re: Request for ESPN insider article "Help for Cavs in the works?"

no warrick, no deal!!!!

kidding of course, but i'd like to keep dwayne if he's just gonna get bought out in any deal anyway

and maybe we can add justin williams then?

Luke Jackson is interested.

cardinals deal goes 2 more years (after this one), at 6.3 and 6.7 million a piece.

With AV coming back I'd be fine with this if it meant bringing Lowry and Miller on board. Please let this happen! :fingersx:

Re: Request for ESPN insider article "Help for Cavs in the works?"

I don't see the point in trading away young guys like Simmons when we can just wait until those contracts expire and sign someone just as good as miller in free agency.

Because you play for now... What if LeBron dies before next season ??? Then we're just royally ******

Simmons is good at being tall, but that's about it...

I do the deal, and I think we could actually get some production from Cardinal as well...I hate thinking about wasting this season away...

If he's bought out, he can't come back to the cavs. Though of course cash could be included in the deal to try to keep a player as small of a salary as dwaynes.

I agree with Pip...Lebron isn't going to be here forever. Plus bird rights are very important these days.

Yes he can, there just can't be an agreement before hand, which was the big stink up over the Stackhouse deal.
