Kobe Bryant Appreciation thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What an awesome finish, glad I experienced it. Kobemania!

I legitimately feel sorry for anyone who didn't enjoy that game or can't admit that they did.

Absolutely legendary.

I was expecting the FT/PF disparity to play a part in Kobe's scoring considering PR.. but damn. That wasn't the case. This was legitimately Kobe being Kobe. From the amount of shots he took, the minutes he played, the free throws falling, and his teammates were looking for him.

This was the most "Kobe" of endings, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you, Bean. Mamba Forever!

As I posted on Twitter last night, sports can frustrate and anger you on a daily basis but watching last night, especially the 2nd half is what reels you back in and remember why you fell in love with the game.
It wasnt the most efficient game, obviously, but I found myself openly rooting for 30 then 40, hoping for 50 and absolutley amazed when he reached 60. That final flurry by him was vintage Kobe. He went out the best way he could.

I legitimately regret not watching it. Don't like Kobe much, but nobody can deny he is one of the greats.

Was glad i stayed up for it. Nice to know that everyone enjoyed watching it as much as i did. Definitely one of the highlights of a frustrating season to watch as a Cavs fan. It was nice to just root for something simple for once.

Say what you want about him personally, Kobe's retirement marks the end of an era. Very few guys are left in the league that are tough as nails, no nonsense competitors like him. KG comes to mind but there's no way he goes out like that. A star-studded spectacle with a house full of his older teammates and he delivered. Truly a remarkable performance from one of the greats.

As others have said though...shouldn’t most NBA players be able to get 60 points on 50 shots if they paced themselves?

Even Steph, the most efficient scorer ever if the media hype is to be believed, only scores 1.5 pts per attempt. Let's not act like what Kobe did last night is what anybody at the Y could do.

Also, did anyone think that Kobe wasn't gonna be chucking all night long in his last night? Give me a break...
