Kobe Bryant Appreciation thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Awesome ending of that game for Kobe, why do people have to be negative.

I guess it was a "fun" ending, if not particularly impressive (Just about anyone in the NBA could reach 60 pts on 50 shots, obviously, since his 1.2 pts per shot was less than even the league -average- of qualified players)

But as far as a fun "going away party", and given the lakers have had nothing to celebrate this year (understatement), It seems like there was at least something for LA fans to get excited about. Even a below average player on a 65-loss team chucking up shots can seem fun for a day, I guess. It certainly made the game feel like a D-league contest.

Kobe wasn't the greatest player ever but to me he was the most exciting.

Can't tell if you are trolling or you actually believe you are contributing to the conversation.

Kobe really ended his speech, the last words he'll ever speak to the Lakers crowd, with "Mamba out."

That dude was really the corniest motherfucker ever. He sure could play basketball though.

Kobe outscored Utah by himself in the 4th quarter.

You're not a sports fan if you couldn't find enjoyment in watching Kobe's performance tonight. People complaining about shot attempts? What the fuck? He finished his career doing what he's done his entire career - shooting the ball! He gave the fans exactly what they wanted to see, scoring 60 points (on 54% TS) and leading the comeback in his career finale, highlighted by making the clutch go-ahead basket in the final 30 seconds to put the Lakers ahead. It was a fairytale ending.

Haters gonna hate. LeBron will see the same shit when he retires.

Isn't 23Lebron a self-admitted Warriors fan? Totally explains why he/she/it is trying to downplay Kobe since it's dominating the sporting world right now and the greatest thing since sliced bread is getting limited recognition for winning 73, considering the achievement.

As for Kobe, down the stretch was vintage, prime, rip your heart out and show it to you while its still beating Kobe...the 2 dribble pull up midrange shot was always his go to move (on top of the spinning baseline fade which he made a few of tonight), and he stuck 2 big ones in a row. Not sure anything I've seen in sports comes close to that send off...the Jeter walkoff in his last game at Yankee Stadium is maybe the closest one, but this was 200x more impressive tonight. Most fun I've had all season was watching that game, especially down the stretch. Love him or hate him, we all wish we got to see Kobe vs LeBron in the Finals in 09...one of the worst missed opportunities in NBA history.

He seems so much more relaxed than he has in a long time. Its like he took of the assassins mask & is a normal guy again.

It was fun to watch without a doubt.

To those complaining about amount of shots taken.. Gimme a break. I'd love to see you score 60 points in a game at his age.. Especially given the circumstances. He played the entire second half as well. The Jazz weren't giving him anything either. He took 50 shots and still managed to will his team to victory.. If you didn't enjoy that game, you're not watching the right sport.

Id say the worst. Stern could have fixed that shit. He did it millions of times. Duncan vs LBJ doesnt have the same allure, and LBJ vs Curry just isnt there yet (it can be if we win one and meet back up for a tiebreaker).

I completely agree. Kobe has been so likable this year.. I think he accepted the fact that his team sucks and embraced his final season.. He had a helluva career and I respect the shit outta him
