Kobe Bryant Appreciation thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Legend. Thats all.

What a performance as well. Yes, he chucked but he also won them the game in the end. Vintage Mamba Performance. Rolled back the clock to his peak years where he would chuck a lot of shots but the motherfucker still knew how to win the game.

It was fun to watch without a doubt.

To those complaining about amount of shots taken.. Gimme a break. I'd love to see you score 60 points in a game at his age.. Especially given the circumstances. He played the entire second half as well. The Jazz weren't giving him anything either. He took 50 shots and still managed to will his team to victory.. If you didn't enjoy that game, you're not watching the right sport.

As a basketball ball, it was absolutely awesome to watch.

The journey for me when it comes to Kobe has been insane.

I hated him initially, then respected him and now have ended up liking him.

For real...I wanted him to shoot every possession, and his teammates did as well...I didn't tune into that game to see Kobe pass to his scrub ass team...I watched for the off chance that he'd drop a huge vintage Kobe scoring number, and he did.

Kobe has just given Kyrie a new blueprint.

Shoot until you die.

I don't care who shoots what. As long as we win the game, I don't mind TT taking 50 odd shots like Wilt!

Just win the motherfucking games and the championship. THATS ALL! :chuckle:

I missed the game (and the warriors game) because I was at work. I didn't actually see it, just the stats. I guess this is one of those games where the stats don't do the game justice. I'll have to find a torrent of the game.

Maybe he will write another poem?

Dear Basketball
From the moment
I started rolling my dad’s tube socks
And shooting imaginary
Game-winning shots
In the Great Western Forum
I knew one thing was real:
I fell in love with you.

A love so deep I gave you my all —
From my mind & body
To my spirit & soul.

As a six-year-old boy
Deeply in love with you
I never saw the end of the tunnel.
I only saw myself
Running out of one.

And so I ran.
I ran up and down every court
After every loose ball for you.
You asked for my hustle
I gave you my heart
Because it came with so much more.

I played through the sweat and hurt
Not because challenge called me
But because YOU called me.
I did everything for YOU
Because that’s what you do
When someone makes you feel as
Alive as you’ve made me feel.

You gave a six-year-old boy his Laker dream
And I’ll always love you for it.
But I can’t love you obsessively for much longer.
This season is all I have left to give.
My heart can take the pounding
My mind can handle the grind
But my body knows it’s time to say goodbye.

And that’s OK.
I’m ready to let you go.
I want you to know now
So we both can savor every moment we have left together.
The good and the bad.
We have given each other
All that we have.

And we both know, no matter what I do next
I’ll always be that kid
With the rolled up socks
Garbage can in the corner
:05 seconds on the clock
Ball in my hands.
5 … 4 … 3 … 2 … 1

A lot of effort for someone whose time is running out...

I was watching Kobe on ESPN2 and of course they cut his press conference short to go to Curry, talking about how expected all his shots to go in tonight.. Im so sick of him hes so boring and unlikeable.

I'm not THAT old, lol :) 4 years younger than MJ.

Besides, that was Kobe's poem, not mine. I just pasted it.

(unless you are saying I'm getting booted soon for not liking Kobe Bryant much)

Kobe news conference on ESPN
Curry news conference on ESPN2

Ha.
It’s atonement for bumping the Kobe game to ESPN2 in the first place for the Warriors game.

So will ESPN now start to cover Tyronn Lue's final coaching season farewell tour?
