2017 Spring Training Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dear Michael Martinez,

Go away.

But he is batting .400 lol! At least Ronny Rodriguez isn't batting well so he is out of the contention more than likely.

Is there anyone out of options that could be released by other teams that could be an option in a deal before the season starts? We both know they are going to look at that waiver wire very closely!

So Robertson is trying his best to make this ball club, what do you think of him? He reminds me of a guy who has little talent but works hard to overcome that.

Liking what I am seeing/hearing with regards to Gomes at the plate so far this spring. That would be huge, if he has a monster rebound season...

Wow. Cody and Shaw getting dominated by kids.

Not surprising at all. Both have been terrible in the spring the last few years. 2 guys I don't care about spring results, because they seem to be working on things/doing things that they don't do in actual games, and have done so the last few seasons since they've become entrenched in their current roles.

If you are worrying, stop.

You should be able to sleep better now with bimbocolesconfidence.

Cody Allen last spring:

7.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP

Bryan Shaw last spring:

8.64 ERA, 2.04 WHIP

Cody Allen last regular season:

2.51 ERA, 1.00 WHIP

Bryan Shaw last regular season:

3.24 ERA, 1.26 WHIP

But yeah...its only my confidence that's making me act that way...not the fact that I've seen this story before...

I am guessing though they also work on more off speed/secondary stuff in the spring as well. They aren't worried about losing, just testing different things and whatnot. With their track record I highly doubt they won't have a good season as long as their fastballs are at their normal velocity.

Lindor indeed has every reason to smile.

They also weren't coming off 77 and 86 appearances respectively- the highest usages of either players careers. Hopefully it is just them warming back up but there are alot of miles on their arms the last three years, with the most and longest miles being last year. There isn't much the Tribe can do, they got who they got, so hopefully they find a way to keep these guys fresh and productive. If they do, we might see other teams begin to copy Tito's usage of the pen. If the pen implodes, teams may think twice.

From the latest info on the Cleveland website it looks like both Brantley and Kipnis are projected to start the season on the DL, so it looks like at the moment Gonzalez is a sure bet to make the team and two position players will be added to the 40 man roster. My projection also is Cooney and Anderson will both likely start the season on the 60 day DL, thus creating two spots on the roster.

I feel we can rule out Diaz, Zimmer making this team out of spring training (even though I wanna see Diaz play second and see if he can do it defensively) so then we are done too a few guys for the last roster spots. I actually want to rule out Ronny as well since he has not impressed me at all.

Jackson, Robertson, Martinez, Urshela and Shaffer.

I think Shaffer and Urshela start the season at AAA, Robertson I actually kind of like, but it's likely going to to go Jackson and Martinez in my opinion to start the season. I am honestly hoping though we do give Gonzalez everyday at bats at 2nd until Kipnis is back

Now that being said they will watch the waiver wire and see who becomes available, but currently that in my opinion is how it stands when it comes to replacing those two guys to start the season

I get the awful feeling that we'll rarely see the best possible Indians lineup together.
