2017 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think Bradley spends the whole year @ AA, has too much to work on to be moving him up just bc of dingers.

Mejia is the real deal with the bat, several good ABs tonight. The arm is as advertised, as is the work he needs to do on blocking.

Kaminsky was solid but the fastball is still 89-91.

Mitch Brown is getting loud outs.

Kipnis exited the game after a nice defensive stop and throw to end an inning.

Curious how this is possible when Kaminsky hasn't even made his season debut yet...(happening tonight)...

LOL, saw a lefty on the mound in the 2nd day of the season, assumed it was Kaminsky- turns out it was Luis Lugo. So Lugo is solid but the fastball isn't much. Might go check out Kaminsky vs. Justus Sheffield tonight...

Lugo is such a weird dude. 6'5 soft tosser...has the look of a guy who should be sitting mid 90s. It's the baby fat, IMO.

Thomas Pannone with a 2nd straight gem as well. 6 IP, 2 H, 1 unearned R, 1 BB, 8 K

16 Ks in 11 IP through 2 starts already.

Brady Aiken walked 7 in 4.2 innings last night.

McKenzie threw well.

Zimmer went deep.

Shane Bieber: 6 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 11 K

Going to be a fast riser on the farm.

Bradley Zimmer slashing .286/.333/.524 through 11 games. He'd K'ed 11 times, with 7 coming in the last 4 games. Also, 4 SB without getting caught.

With Almonte being Almonte, and Naquin already getting sent down, we might see Zimmer after that Super 2 deadline.

Just my opinion, but I feel Zimmer isn't being called up unless he is playing everyday and I don't see that happening if Naquin can show he can fix his issues. I think Naquin will get another chance before they add Zimmer to the 40 man roster.

Look toward middle to the end of June. So many factors at play before then.

Mainly the performance of Almonte. Chisenhall's defense in center could be a factor. The team's offensive performance is a big factor.

I don't think Lonnie at CF is a long-term solution. You have to think Tito's more comfortable with Lonnie in a corner OF spot.

I'm also not sold on Almonte, Jackson or Naquin being an everyday player right now. Out of the three, I sadly think Almonte's the closest to it.

I'm not sure what the answer is to our hole in CF, but if Zimmer was a solution, I'd be pleasantly surprised.

I disagree, I think Zimmer gets a shot before Naquin now. Naquin needs to rebuild his entire approach, and that takes time.

Agreed. We all knew about his deficiencies last year--and once the rest of the MLB started attacking them, his production fell off a cliff.

He couldn't fix this issue during the offseason or Spring, so let's hope he can eventually figure it out--but right now, Almonte and Jackson (puke) both look like far better major leaguers than Tyler.
