2017 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think Dobbs will be a horrible NFL QB.

I prefer drafting Dobbs to be sincere and we did Kessler higher than projected, but I don't think we should draft him at 12, I am not opposed to the second round if they really think he could be there guy.

I think we'll come out of this draft with at least 2 QB's. One high and one mid round guy.

Analytics. What did we draft 6 WR's last year? Just keep taking shots.

No way, we have Kessler who isnt going anywhere and Brock who might be on the roster by default.

We will draft 1 QB.

It's possible we go two QBs, but I also think that depends on what they plan on doing with Osweiler as well. This class isn't a strong QB class so a second QB is a bit iffy to me. I'd rather just get a QB, TE, RB then the rest all defense with maybe a WR mixed in. True I want to trade down from 12 to get more picks.

If our target is Dobbs QB wise, we could move down from 12 in a sense unless a guy like Howard is there. I don't see lattimore, Adams or hooker falling to us and it's possible Conley falls and even Cook now into the second. Trading down getting Obi, the round two getting Dobbs, Cook and Conley. I would be happy with that one lol

Is it really possible that Bama's Jonathan Allen falls to 12 or later? This guy was pretty dominant. How does everyone feel about whatever injury he has versus the upside if he's there at 12?

Who's to say we don't just end up cutting him? We're offering to pay half the mans salary for someone to just take him. I don't see any reason why we wouldn't take a shot on multiple QB's to solve the position. It's blatantly obvious that Osweiler isn't going to solve anything there.

Allen could fall to 12 and for the first 4-6 years of his career he will be a monster. There is a good probability he won't be able to play after that though with the type of chronic issue he has hence why he is falling. I wouldn't fault them for getting him at 12.

Unless a video surfaces tomorrow of him smoking weed out of a gas mask I don't see a realistic scenario of Allen falling out of the top 10.

I dont see the point of just cutting him, he has as much chance of success as grabbing a 2nd qb does, and we are already on the hook for him for a year.

Plus if we dont go early qb, we might use a top 5 or 10 pick on a qb next year, so then kesslere or one of the 2 from this year are cut?

I dont buy it. We will draft 1 qb, but a later round qb is unnecessary as it projects to be a backup and that is what Kessler is here for.

Why draft a QB to draft a QB though? This isn't a strong class of QBs and taking one late could be a waste of a pick. If Osweiler is not traded before the draft starts then he will have a chance to make this team and actually need a starter. Honestly though I don't think O'Brian in Houston is a good coach, and you never know, he may turn out alright working with Jackson.

I think Osweiler will be traded draft night in a deal that has us moving up a little in the late rounds. Of course, we'd still be eating a good chunk of salary.

On the eve of the draft, how are you guys feeling?
