2017 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think Osweiler will be traded draft night in a deal that has us moving up a little in the late rounds. Of course, we'd still be eating a good chunk of salary.

If we move Osweiler then I can see maybe a 2nd QB, but it's possible Jackson likes the guy and let's him stay in camp. I just cannot personally see two QBs in this draft unless it's like Trubisky and Dobbs type of thing.

So.....you can see two QBs in this draft.

I dont see the point of just cutting him, he has as much chance of success as grabbing a 2nd qb does, and we are already on the hook for him for a year.

Plus if we dont go early qb, we might use a top 5 or 10 pick on a qb next year, so then kesslere or one of the 2 from this year are cut?

I dont buy it. We will draft 1 qb, but a later round qb is unnecessary as it projects to be a backup and that is what Kessler is here for.

There's so many recent examples of mid round QB's turning into upper tier starting QB's in the NFL recently. That's why you do it. Because you have to keep taking shots until something sticks at this position. You can't expect to draft one guy and just have it work out. It's exactly like Sashi has been saying, we aren't just better than everyone at drafting. Which is why you take as many as you can until you find the solution.

Still have only a 5% chance at best of a mid round qb working out.

For every Cousins or Russell, there are a dozen or two nobodies.

I don't think that will even happen to be sincere. I mean it cannot be ruled out, but it's a really really low probability if that.

The fact of the matter to me is there isn't very many good QBs in this draft and there is a lot of good players in positions we really need in this draft. I wouldn't be mad if we didn't come away with a single offensive player, but I would be mad if we didn't get 4 DBs throughout this draft since we didn't sign any, we gotta bring them in. Next year's projected draft could be one you draft two, but not this seasons draft especially with the holes we have.

Who are you to say this?

Did you think Dak Prescott was a "good" QB in the draft last year? I never understand the whole "there aren't too many good blah blah this draft". That's NEVER the case. There's good players, you just have to find and pick the right ones.

5% is better than 0% in my eyes, and Brock is 0.

I'm sure glad you are sportscoach, and not sportsGM.

I didn't say that was my plan, since at the end of the day I want a QB, TE, RB, Garrett, 4-5 DBs and the rest can be whoever is the BPA. OLine and WR are my last on my list of needs, but if there is a first round grade available in round 2/3 I don't see why i wouldn't take him. But the defense is where we need to put most of the picks since it's complete and utter crap and no one could win games with who we have right now. Hopefully Bryant coming back will help us as well.

The offense is already a lot stronger than it was last season and we will be able to throw and run with a much better efficiency. This could potentially be the best OLine Cleveland has ever has had and quite frankly I think people are down playing how much better we are.

You must be at least 50 years old. 85 Bears and Steel Curtain right?

Nope I am 28, but how many teams have won lately in the super bowl that didn't have the number 1 defense? We have a top 5 OLine and this draft is full of defensive players. Let's go with the strength of the draft while filling in needs and in 18 we can finish the roster where it is needed. Since I have no doubt with the right moves this season we are a playoff team next season with or without drafting a franchise QB.

This QB class reminds me of 2007. There's five or six teams who want this to be a successful group because of need. The Texans, Jets, Bears, Niners, Bills, Jags, Chiefs and Browns would all love to come out of this draft with at least a long-term QB project. But if the talent isn't there, team need doesn't matter. It's Jamarcus Russell, Jay Cutler, Brady Quinn, Matt Lienart, and Vince Young all over again. Sometimes the best answer is "none of the above, gimmie a safety."

Two out of the three last Super Bowls, and they were by the the same team.

And they also beat the number 1 defense to win one of those Super Bowls.
