Did you read the press release?He had every right to punch a woman in the face, but that doesn't mean there isn't a moral right and wrong here.
I don't care about the minor legal ramifications, I wouldn't touch Joe Mixon for the same exact reason.
If you're a 280 pound football player, you don't knock out a women half your size because she's trying to fight you.
It specifically states that the significance of the injures to the female party were not what has been described. So the whole "knocking her out, knocking out a tooth" narrative was also false.
Specifically...
"...reports of a significant injury to the alleged victim are inaccurate and any injury she sustained is relatively minor and inconsistent with any great force having been used against her. In essence, the facts suggest that the alleged victim's friends engaged Brantley in an unpleasant verbal exchange, during which the alleged victim began to physically punch or assault Brantly, causing him to shove her away."
If he stuck his hand out to shield her away, that seems far more reasonable.
