There were a few articles which stated DWill wanted to finish his career in Salt Lake City with the Jazz, a place where he own two homes, including one that George Hill currently is living in.
Hopefully things have changed in the two months since he's been here.
A combination of winning at the highest level and chance for a ring every season, the role etched out for him as the season unfolded, and the comradery of the guys(including good friend Kyle Korver getting resigned) all these considered and combined just may created a scenario where signing back with Cleveland becomes a plausible scenario.
All I know is he's the perfect fit here, and by far the best backup pg to ever suit up with Lebron.
Hypothetically let's say DWill does return and without question it would take the full mid level (tax paying) to bring him back... Where would that leave a move over to the states for Cedi Osman realistically from a financial perspective? I know the Cavs own his rights, but in assuming not his bird rights, correct? Osman would have to sign for the minimum if the mid level was spent on another player, am I on point who that? Would be great if we actually earned Osman's bird rights, and you bring back DWill without question of its at the expense of bringing Osman stateside.
The other player which looks likely to leave because of no $ available to keep him is Derrick Anderson. Would LOVE to somehow keep him as his youth, energy and athleticism is a perfect fit with this roster moving forward trying to keep everyone healthy. The only prayer in keeping Williams on a 1 year vet minimum deal is to sell him on his future role and compensation lying ahead for him. With cap constantly rising, a mid level compensation his second year would be nothing to sneeze at, and once there's financial room we could lock him up, all in time for these next generation of Cavs and their window opens. The fact Williams only being 26 intrigues me, and if they were so who's s or to keep him together with the same ages Kyrie/Love/ Shumpert younger players... It would be advantageous for everyone. Pipe dream I know.
Speaking of pipe dreams... The last thing I'd like to mention along them lines is the Chris Bosh situation. If the Cavs Dr's clear him... There is a very distinct possibility we could see Bosh in a Cavs uniform next season, limited capacity or not.
