I'll be honest. Didn't think Love's value would be this low.

Quite amazed, really. Because he is an elite rebounder, good scorer, possibly the best Stretch-4 in the league and has improved to become an average defender. Thought there would be a lot of teams who would want him because he could have added a lot to their teams. Especially teams like Charlotte, Orlando etc.

Yea I also totally agree with that. Gotta be able to rest LBJ more. Question is can we do that with smaller tweaks and maybe adding someone like Melo (for scoring punch without Lebron) without giving up Love. Or is a much larger move the only real option to beat GS. I really think improving the bench is a must above all else. It was just so bad when it counted.
"Practice?" I understand there are limited opportunities during the RS. But Lue HAS to develop the Team sans LBJ into a Force on the Floor.
Or at least not suck Major Monkey Balls.

Just teams overvaluing the unknown because it's easier than actually trying to win.

In the time Philadelphia has been doing nothing but collecting and drafting players, what they've called "the process," Minnesota has fielded a competitive team, lost its franchise player, and has now entered back into relevancy by trading draft picks for good basketball players.

And yet I'm told Philadelphia is the way to build. Embiid can't stay on the court. Ben Simmons hasn't played a single game. Okafor was bust. Noel isn't on the team.

But that whole Philadelphia philosophy of hoarding pick after pick has taken hold of the rest of the league. Meanwhile, they stay irrelevant, stay losing.

I think Loves low value has less to do with him and more to do with the white flag situation in the NBA right now. So many teams know they have zero shot against GS, that a guy like Love, who I think would normally be a piece that many teams trying to contend would go for, becomes less coveted around the league. Teams are no longer considering how to win over the next few years, they are looking at youth for the future, creating favorable financial situations, selling tickets, etc. I think his low value is a direct result of a league where 99% of the teams have very little interest in trading to try and improve their team in the short run.

At least we'll never lose sleep over this trade when it comes to him alone. Wiggins has been very, very, underwhelming IMO. Love to this day is easily better.

And I was a Wiggins guy (after Embiid). What only kills me, is our reluctance to not at least get Dieng back, while also including that Miami pick (look what Minny got back in the Butler trade).

If Minny wanted fat ass Bennett, I could care less.

That still, to this day, remains mind boggling with the number one pick in the draft, Flip's guy (RIP), and all the fucking ammo to get Minny to bend to our will, we didn't get the upper hand when Love was ready to walk.

Boy, would Dieng at starting center look pretty nice now.
Or at least get Lavine back.

I dream about the day the NBA does something like giving everyone in the lottery the same odds for picking in the draft so we can get over this tanking bullshit.

Losing should never be a strategy, nevermind the "best" one. I mean, we benefited from it, but it's just wrong.

Has there ever been a 5 team trade? Sounds like fake news.

August 2, 2005: MIAMI HEAT acquires F Antoine Walker from the BOSTON CELTICS and G Jason Williams, F James Posey and G Andre Emmett from the MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES and the draft rights to C Roberto Duenas from the NEW ORLEANS HORNETS in a five-team trade that sent G-F Eddie Jones to Memphis, F Rasual Butler to New Orleans, a 2006 second-round draft pick, a conditional second-round draft pick, F Qyntel Woods and the draft rights to Albert Miralles to Boston; The UTAH JAZZ acquired C Greg Ostertag from Memphis; Boston acquired C Curtis Borchardt from Utah and G Raul Lopez from Memphis; New Orleans acquired G Kirk Snyder from Utah

Checkmate.

If you're creating some fake news, why would you say something so stupid like a 5 team trade? at least make it sound believable, it sounds so stupid to be fake news it might actually be true lmao

How do you know they don't want him? I doubt we offered him to those teams because they have nothing to trade for him.

Picks? Aaron Godron? Evan Fournier?

Which we could have then used to trade with Bulls or Pacers.

Well Said.

I am amazed how teams like Charlotte, Detroit, Orlando are not after established star players who could help them with the play-offs push. They are neither here, nor there. Add someone like Love to those teams, I think they not only qualify for the playoffs but can possibly win a series as long as they don't face us.
