Like the 3rd or 4th new person today to say Carmelo won't come to Cleveland.

Y'all better have something better than a Frank Idols article.

Link, new guy. If you're gonna come in all hot and bothered you better come prepared.

Google.com, this is a pretty good website to find information that you might be looking for. Also its well known by probably 3 quarters of the earth that Melo has a no trade claus.

And you think Melo is going to just change his mind now after this off season mess to wave his no trade claus? So you're telling me Melo is looking at the Cavs and says to himself "You know what, Dan Gilbert has everything under control. Sorry Houston"

And yup im the new guy, here to spread a education that's desperately needed. :)

Not one link that said "Carmelo won't waive his no trade clause for Cleveland." Or "will only waive it for Houston."

You lose the "dont post like a dumbass upon first registering here" game.

So Ill let you try one more time to find a single report that says he will only waive his no-trade clause for Houston that doesn't come from Frank Idols before I put you on the ignore list.

And before you copy and paste the CBS article, Ill save you the trouble. The source for that article is Woj. Except when you read the excerpt they pasted, Woj doesnt say what they said he does.

George traded to OKC is all I need to say about this drivel.

Btw, 3 of these 4 articles are complete opinion pieces. The only article that is a sourced, straight fact article is the nydn article, and that's only half so.

The other 3 are just giving opinions based on other sourced articles, and most them come from one Wojnarowski article.

Here's what I want: Find me one article with these words, or something close, " carmelo anthony will only waive his NTC for Houston, according to sources."

Or "according to sources, Anthony will not waive his NTC for Cleveland."

You'll only find one. And it was written by Frank Isola.

Anyway, Milwaukee is my preferred choice. Middleton is a legit upgrade at the 2 and doesn't need the ball. Woild be massibe to have a 6'7 wingman that shoots well above 40% from 3.

Brogdon is the current rookie of the year playing a position we will need to fill.

Then you take the other stuff they give up, picks, Maker, and package that up with Frye and Shumpert and Osman and send them to New York for Melo.

Brogdon + Middleton + a couple of picks/assets for Kyrie is indeed a good haul, @Rich .

Then use those picks to get Melo.

Brogdon - Middleton - LeBron - Melo - Love.

I like the look of that.

Defense improves slightly imo. Especially with much better perimeter defense.

More importantly, our bench does too with JR, Korver and TT now coming off the bench!

I am wondering though, would you look to move Brogdon + a pick or two for Bledsoe?

Also, one more thing about Middleton.

He has the length to guard KD as well if needed. He is 6 ft 8 in. He is much better than any wing-defender we have to throw at KD other than LeBron.

I actually was looking at a trade like that and I think its workable.

I think there's a scenario where, if we give up on Melo, we can get Bledsoe, Middleton, and Maker.

Now that depends on Milwaukee placing a pretty high value on Kyrie. But basically you do roughly the same deal for Bledsoe you would do for Carmelo, only instead of sending Maker to New York, you send Brogdon and possibly some picks/Osman to a Phoenix.

I've scoured some Phoenix websites about why the fans are looking for in regards to Bledsoe and it seems to be totally about young players and picks. No stars. So I don't think I'm shortchanging Phoenix here.

An example: Phoenix fan proposed 3 way in which they sent out Bledsoe and Warren and got back the dude the Knicks took at 8 and picks. If that's the general feel of what they want, I think Brogdon fits the bill pretty well.

True.

I like both Bledsoe and Brogdon.

While Bledsoe is a better player than Brogdon, I feel like Brogdon would be a better fit alongside a Bron, Love and possibly Melo than Bledsoe because of his ability to play off the ball.

Defensively, Brogdon is very impressive as well. I don't think he is that far off defensively than a Bledsoe. But, I guess getting Bledsoe gives us a better chance of keeping LeBron. So, we've got to do that. Also, if LeBron leaves, we would need a genuine PG. Not entirely sold on Brogdon running the point if Bron leaves.

I can't fathom why people want Brogdon but call Gary Harris a shit return when Harris is a better shooter defender scorer and 2 years younger. Just seems weird if alls we get is Middleton and Brogdon give me Chandler Harris Murray.

Gary Harris is damn good, and so much better than Brogdon it isn't even funny.

15/3/3 on 50/42 shooting while being a good defender.

It's Murray who I don't think is very good...

Murray came on at the end of each season last year and was impressive after the AS break and would be worth a flier in the long term dude is a great shooter playing with Bron would get him a ton of open looks he didn't dream of seeing in Denver

Because out of all the players mentioned, MIddleton is the best, and fills our biggest need, a long wing defender to match-up with Durant.

Brogdon was also a rookie, so telling me 3rd year Gary Harris was better.........eh, ok. First year Brogdon was immensely better than 1st year Harris.

But truly, the deal is about MIddleton, and in this case Thon Maker.

If I'm trading Kyrie I want to fill holes. I like Gary Harris...Gary Harris is a small 2 guard that in no way helps us with our Durant problem.

If I'm making this trade for the future and not as a win-now move, then I'm calling up entirely different teams all together.

Love Harris - Love Middleton
I only give the advantage to Middleton because of his defense and he has 3 yrs left on contract while Harris only 1 yr.

So, anyway, here's the bare bones of the deal.

To Phoenix: Malcom Brogdon, Iman Shumpert
To Milwaukee: Kyrie Irving
To Cleveland: Khris Middleton, Eric Bledsoe, Thon Maker

Before anyone goes berserk for whatever reason, there can be and probably would be more moving parts. There's a lot of leeway here considering Milwaukee has all of their picks and Phoenix has a ton of cap space. Leaves wiggle room for more give and take.

So, for instance, lets say Phoenix wants a pick or two, MIlwaukee can then counter by saying they'll give up those picks if Phoenix takes back a bad contract, like John Henson. Likewise, we can send Osman to one team or the other, depending on who needs more.

So, imagine the above only add in Milwaukee's 2018 1st rounder lottery protected to Phoenix, possibly Cleveland's 2021 1st rounder to Phoenix, and then a bad contract to Phoenix like John Henson or Teletovic. Something along those lines. Potentially Osman to Milwaukee.

Ok, have at it.

What I'll say before you do, though, is I've done a good deal of searching around the web for what Phoenix wants for Bledsoe. Again, this seems to be about it. When Begley said the Knicks would give up multiple first rounders along with Carmelo for Kyrie, Phoenix fans were ready to hop in by offering Bledsoe, but not for Kyrie, for the picks + the guy the Knicks picked at 8.

So I think this is pretty damn comparable to that type of return.

Anyway, with a move like this we upgrade our shooting guard position not just from a talent standpoint, but from a fit standpoint. We get a guy who has the length to cover bigger wings (Durant), something we severely lacked this year. We replace Kyrie with a pretty good player who happens to be a creator, something we will need to replace with Kyrie leaving.

And then we get a raw prospect, but a guy who, if he continues to develop, helps fill another major hole in the roster. Athletic rim protector.
