Tyronn Lue has been fired

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
A couple things from the post game interviews:

-JRs back tightened up on him and they decided to keep him out the rest of the game. A partial, explanation for some of the puzzling rotations in the first six minutes of the 4th qtr. With JR out and Korver being exploited and bullied by Smart, it limited the options.

-Excuse or not, all the players mentioned just needing to get in better shape. That likely affected how little they pushed the pace in the second half and the defensive trapping not being as intense as it was in the first half. Lue specifically said he wants the players to not pace themselves, go all out full energy for 6-7 minutes and then just let him put the next guy in.

-Lue also said he needs to create more plays/opportunities for Love and that he definitely sees Love as the second option behind LeBron. Said that when they don't push the pace and keep the Nak moving, it doesn't benefit Love as much as when they do, as that type of movement and pace leads to switch mismatches that can result with a smaller defender on Love for postups/backdowns or just a scrambled defense that leads to open threes.

All of the post game interviews were good but the LeBron and Lue ones were the longest and most info heavy/insightful.

I'm tired of Lues excuses about he needs to run more plays for Love bla bla bla. Then why did Love only play 28 minutes? I'm sure LeBron didn't tell him to sit Love. He probably just forgot about Love until late in 4th.

Yeah - midway through the 4th, I see Love with 23 minutes and 9 shots, and I’m like “WTF?!”

If Love if the second option, treat him that way.

At some point we have to sacrifice wins to get more guys play time.

LeBron played 41 mins today on a bum ankle.....I’m sorry but that’s fucked up. They had the nerve to tell us before tip that he was on a light minutes restriction then he plays 41 mins. That pisses me off. We need this dude in June and he’s gonna be gassed by March because our coach can’t instill an offense good enough for guys 6-12 to run

Bron did a 45min versaclimber session post game.

He's fine. He wanted this game. We have 2 days off.

I think everything will be fine as long as Lue figures out the rotations. This was Lebron's first real extended action with the new guys. He's a little hurt and out of shape. Wade looks good and Rose looks quick and healthy. Him and LeBron just need to figure out how to play together. Plus we still have an all star point guard waiting to come back. Things will come together soon.

That will be the biggest issue as I see it...Lue figuring out his lineup and rotation..
Wade and Rose aren't giving you outside shooting..so maybe Lue needs to realize that Wade would be better off the bench.

The purpose of replacing Blatt with Lue was Lue allegedly held everyone accountable..

He can "hold the players accountable" all he wants, the fact remains he has no idea what the hell hes doing when it comes to X/O's on defense or offense, not to mention rotations, Love is again just a floor spacer and is not used as a passer.

All of these things are way more important than "holding players accountable", we need a coach that understands defense and modern NBA offense which is based around team ball and man movement, not the absolute shit show that was this game..

It was hard to watch looked like a bunch of randoms playing together at the park doing wtf they want, luckily one of them just happens to be one of the greatest players of all time so we barley won the game.

Would love to see more rose-lbj pnr, that might solve our spacing issue with the starters. Rose has the speed to punish teams going under the screen and lbj has the knack to make the right plays being the roll man. LBJ has to embrace the pf role full time on offense. Crowder can defend 4's adequately.

Love getting two quick fouls in the first quarter is respsonsible for that but if having a handy catch all scapegoat makes you feel better, join the rest of the crowd.

Okay since you want to defend Lue. Answer this:

1. Why did Love not play during the 3rd quarter when our bench was getting thrashed and our hard earned lead dwindled. Did Lue really fear Love fouling out that much that he rather save him until the last few minutes in the 4th quarter?

2. What if Lue AGAIN putting the game on an injured Lebron actually get Lebron hurt playing him 41 minutes. Is it worth not playing our 2nd best player to put everything on the back of our injured best player so the 2nd best player wouldn't foul out with only 2 fouls?

Imagine if Lue inserted Love in the 3rd quarter and it kept the lead = Lebron didnt need to play as hard on a hurt ankle and save us again playing 41 minutes AGAIN.

And don't tell me about Lue is going to limit Lebron because he hasnt been doing it for the past 2 years hes been coach. He rather limit other players like Love it seems. I expect playing Lebron 40+ minutes to continue until he actually limits his minutes foreal this time.

Kevin Love last night per 100:

25.8 PPG on .621 TS
18.9 RPG

team ORTG 117
team DRTG 99

Yeah, he absolutely didn't get enough shots. Rose and Green were getting more shots up per 100 despite converting at a dreadful rate.

This team should be about LeBron, IT (when he gets back), Love, Crowder, JR. Instead coach and LeBron have made the team about LeBron, Rose, Wade, Crowder, Love.

One game. And this isn't much different than any year before. We often had games last year and in Blatt's 1.5 years, where Love had the 4th-5th amount of shots on the team.

Guards control the ball. Unless the big is the DEFACTO #1 player on the team, all around the NBA, non ballhandling forwards and centers are at the whims of the ballhandling wings and guards. This is an all across the NBA issue, with a few exceptions.

I don't disagree with you at all about what the offensive flow and priorities should be though. Definitely willing to see that develop over a few weeks before making initial judgements.

Last night 15.5 FGA per 100
last year 23 FGA per 100

this can't be a trend.

Agree, but one game. A game he picked up two quick fouls in. And a game in which we're breaking in multiple new players and ballhandlers. If it's a month long trend I will share your concern 100%
