What???

Hell no. Calderon is injury insurance. Nothing more.

Wade can start with LeBron/Crowder/JR/Love.

Rose can be the first one to sub in off the bench.

And then Wade can run the 2nd unit. Wade's defense and playmaking show why Rose is the odd man out as far as minutes go.

He's 6 months out from meniscus surgery. In researching that topic before, my conclusion was that it seemed to take guys about one year to get back to their full level before the injury.

I just hope he doesn't get hurt again in the meantime.

If Wade keeps looking great with that 2nd unit, and if IT is as healthy as everyone thinks he is, then I could see us packaging Rose with Shumpert/Frye in a deal.

Not sure how that would help. Rose is an UFA and so not sure other teams will value him enough to move the needle on a trade especially considering his contract value is so low.

Maybe, unless we're trading him for another UFA, and both teams are filling positions of need.

I could see lots of scenarios where that would be attractive to teams. Especially if Rose keeps looking like he's got his old athleticism back.

But I'm also cool with just keeping Rose on the cheap, in case of injuries and what not.

That was one part of his game last night I did like.

A few of the things I didn't like are probably unchangeable but many should improve just with comfort level/experience playing together.

Also, as ugly as it was, lets not forget just how important that 3rd qtr buzzer beater 3 pointer ended up being in the grand scheme of the final result.

Calderon sucks. I'm shocked he's still playing in this league.

As far as Rose, He has to stop falling down and flopping on every layup attempt. He needs to make the layup and if he misses he needs to get back on defense. When he falls his man takes advantage of the situation and scores the basket on the other side of the court.

I actually thought his defense was pretty damn good against Kyrie last night. After the first quarter, he really did a great job keeping Kyrie out of the paint. When Kyrie did get to the hoop, he was met with resistance.

We really did a great job defending Kyrie. The shots he made, were ones he earn. He can get hot like that, and really isn't much you can do.

I don't think Kyrie was very effective though last night.
 
For those that didnt already know, Rose takes PG matchups very personally, which is just great for us because we have a guy that will be fired up to attack Curry when he starts going off
 
He wasn't very efficient in the last game. Hope he does better today. For someone who takes the most number of shots after LeBron he needs to be more efficient.

If this continues to be true for another couple games, it's a BIG problem with the shooters we have on this team.

Yeah we have to hope it balances out some as we go forward. I think Rose really is trying to reestablish himself meaning we get some of these games were he is forcing the issue.
