On a sidenote, after Derrick Williams, I just can't associate anyone with that haircut with being a good player. I expect incompetence with every sway of that hair. Go short again, D Rose!

I'm fine with letting the experiment play out for another couple games.

But, he had a team high -7 in the +/- category. The ONLY starter in the negative, and the WORST +/- of any player on the team.

JR should start in his place, Rose can be the first off the bench to sub out Wade, so that Wade can spend a lot of his time running the 2nd unit.

Him and Wade on the floor together is a disaster.

That said, he is very effective getting to the rim right now which is useful. If he could get an efficient 12-14 ppg for the Cavs this year mostly on layups, floaters and Free Throws, I’d be elated.

It's more about how they rotate Rose, Wade, and LBJ. They all played together too much tonight. Too much of each of them getting their turn to ISO while everyone watches. Lue just needs to stagger their minutes so only two of LBJ, Rose, and Wade are on the floor together. Not enough shooters on the floor for most of the game.

Also, Rose's defense was quite solid.

Late in the game when Kyrie tried that lay-up, Rose defended him very well.

I do agree that we are better off with starting one of Rose/Wade with the other one coming off the bench!

Rose made an amazing off-ball cut on the last play that basically opened Love up for that three.

He also was pretty solid attacking Kyrie when he had the opportunity.

I know there were issues. But those were some positives.

This first game was just a nightmare to assess. First the Cavs were on point, then all the players were playing in a state of shock, then the refs swallowed their whistles in an apparent rush of pity for the Celtics losing their contention dreams in six minutes... It was just a non-typical game from an energy standpoint. I felt like Cavs fans felt bad about cheering until the fourth quarter.

Rose had a GREAT defensive play on Kyrie near the end of the game.

I don't see how Rose will work with Lebron if Lebron plays the PG. Teams will just sag off him. Rose will be a terrific backup PG but either he's just not a great fit with the starters

I really liked that play where Lebron set the pick for Rose and rolled, and Rose did that jump pass to find him for an easy layup. Showcased his passing skill.

Need a lot more off ball action like that with Lebron. Would free up Rose a lot I think to get more comfortable.

Seemed like a pretty typical Cavs game to me.
