Derrick Rose: Outta Here!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I see him being very important to our success, but there's two sides to every coin...

The way he plays the game, he still relies heavily on athleticism. If an existing injury or age creeps in and takes that away, how will his percentages be affected? Many of his layups are bursts to the hoop. He should have learned some finesse so he could save his muscles for later. And furthermore, it is a reason why he looks so good to start the season.

On the other hand, he no longer needs to be the primary option. If he can save himself thanks to having more teammates to rely on, he won't need to go full throttle. He won't need to burn himself out playing more than 30 minutes a night. Additionally, he does know how to run offense naturally. It won't stop his reliance on athleticism, but it also helps that he's a bigger point guard... his defense is pretty important too.

If he can manage to play 60+ games at a high level for most of the season, it could be better than when we played Deron for last year's stretch run. We'll see what we get later on.

This is a no lose season for rose.. he just has to stick with what he's best at. Pressuring the defense, finding the weaknesses tiring out the bull. If he plays physical defense, that's a plus. If he stays healthy, stays within his role, he is in for a payday in 2018..

Why? We don't know if (1) he will be healthy, and (2) if he is useful against GSW.

What is wrong with that?

You simply saying it's "bullshit" without providing reasons, doesn't mean I'm wrong.
You're saying we don't know if IT will be playable and proposing we trade him for a low 1st round pick, that's just ludicrous.

Everyone from Ben to the doctors to IT himself is saying he's way ahead of schedule in his rehab. IT proved he could carry the Celts in playoff basketball and against the Warriors and he'll be surrounded by better talent with lower burden and expectations placed on him.And he'll be playing for a contract.

Shit man, you talk about him like he's a slightly better version of Kay Felder or something. He's way better than you allude to him being and he'll be running with Lebron in much more limited minutes with less pressure. He'll be like the super version of the Microwave, with instant offense that puts pressure on defenses.

I don't really want him on the team but I acknowledge how good he is. I prefer more length across the board. I'm worried he'll be too good and we'll be obligated to try to keep him. I'd rather trade him somehow but he will make it difficult.

Sorry, but Kyrie is better than Isaiah. Isaiah can be stopped in the playoffs when he's not getting calls and the defenses turn up to playoff intensity. Kyrie cannot be. The stats show this pretty clearly.

For the PG position Kyrie is one of the greatest pure ISO scorers of all time, as far as I can see. Isiah is really good but he's just not that.
Kyrie has had LeBron beside him each time he was in the playoffs. IT hasn't had that luxury. Let's wait and see.

I might be overly negative on IT, and I can admit that.

But this quote is some overly positive horse shit as well. The last time we saw IT play he couldn't even finish the playoffs.

And rather than getting surgery right away, he waited, and we haven't seen him play since.

I hope I'm wrong, and I hope you're right. But until we see him play, we don't know what we have and we don't know how he'll fit with the roster.

For whatever it's worth, I hope you end up being right.

He had a center fall on him and that's what injured his hip. Of course he also has some chronic hip issues but that wasn't what forced him out of the playoffs, the after effects of logging heavy minutes competing at the highest level after the traumatic injury is what forced him out.

The surgery might have been worse than the treatment method he chose. Definitely for the shorter term. Surgery would have been better longer term but for this season he did what was best. Every report says he is doing well and ahead of schedule.

I have no idea how he'll fit in. I would have preferred someone else but he's who we have along with DRose and DWade. In theory he should fit in just fine with better talent all around him than what he had with the team he led to the ECF.

The whole team is kind of a Frankenstein of mismatched parts and pieces. They're going to have a lot of shit to figure out as long as who fits with who and how all the different rotations can play together. Not just IT. Everybody.

One thing I like about him. He brings a toughness, an attitude and a will that I don't think Kyrie possesses. The more we find out the more it was Kyrie creating weirdness and discomfort in the locker room, and in hindsight I fail to see how that wasn't a negative effect on our performance in the finals. IT and Crowder bring character and hunger to win that was somewhat lacking last season. We might be seeing it out of Rose and Wade also. If anything that should give Lebron and the rest of the team a tailwind this year as opposed to the Kyrie headwind.

Frankenstein is a great description of this roster. Like Frankenstein, it could be a beast if everything works out, but if the magic lightning bolt doesn't hit it is just going to lurch around a lot.

Rest rose for the finals

Already hear livingston is having nightmares

Thomas ability to shoot the ball is going to be important in the playoffs.

It's fine in the regular season, but in a playoff series teams are going to sag off of Rose and force him to shoot jumpers.

I love the pickup. Love the way he looks. Think he's going to be good for us.

But our only realistic chance at winning a title is with a healthy IT.

We can't upgrade in a trade without the Brooklyn pick.

We can't trade him for a pick and expect to have any chance to keep LeBron.

Best and Only choice is to rehab him and then get him integrated asap.

I just don’t see anyone paying him. Not big money. The money isn’t there. Most teams have used up their cap space for the future and the ones who haven’t have a young PG and probably don’t want a 30 year old rose taking minutes away from them.

I hope this happens and we keep him for the mle. He’ll always be an injury risk. He played pretty good last year and got the minimum, I bet he could have got more, probably just liked our situation better.

He's going to get a lot more than vet min... IF he plays like we have seen and can stay healthy
