Browns rant thread.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Wentz is a fucking stud.

Fuck whoever says otherwise. Washington's defense is solid as fuck, they destroyed Carr a few weeks ago, and here Wentz is passing, he's running, changing plays, calling shots, trail blazing, eyebrow raising, kicking ass, chewing bubblegum, while the browns front office plays with their pussies.

Fuck the Browns. Fuck the Browns.

With all due respect, Wentz doesn't do shit here, we suck, we're pathetic, we don't know what a wide receiver is, Wentz would fail and ultimately die here like every other Cleveland Brown since 1999.

Fucking pathetic ass Browns.

Rant over

Oh yeah, Wentz is probably the 3rd best QB in fantasy football now.

Wentz has all the physical tools. Plus he had a great wonderlic score combined with straight As through HS and college.

That tells one that lack of experience may get him for a while, but that raw intelligence and work ethic means he was never going to be a bust. I always felt his floor was average QB.

The Browns erred. They compounded that error by drafting a WR that I don't think anyone thought of as a WR1. Foolish. Most foolish.

Personally, I think Coleman was the second best WR prospect in the class last year behind Doctson. He has elite measurables and was absolutely dominant in college.

It's easy to call shit on the Browns FO for not drafting Wentz, hindsight 20/20. If I recall most of this board was Goff or bust and we praised the trade down. Now it's too much?

That being said, it does hurt to see how well Wentz is doing, especially after our FO didn't consider him a top 20 QB. He now leads a team with best record in NFL currently, with great individual stats to boot.

I find it weird that we praised the trade down last year but not all of a sudden every single person KNEW Wentz would be this good. Come on now.

Do you guys think the Browns put a $100 bill in the playbook?

I do not think Wentz turns into this guy in Cleveland. Dude has an embarrassment of riches right now. Here, he would have probably half of what he has now.

Whatever. It definitely sucks. Hopefully their next coach doesnt suck in identifying QBs.

I saw that Pryor is struggling and the redskins barely played him in MNF. He didn't start and only got one snap in the first half. If I'm the front office I get on the phone and offer a straight up Britt for Pryor trade. I saw if Britt is cut before 3/16 he is only owed the 10.5 guaranteed instead of the 17 million. That makes his deal very similar to Pryor's. Redskins fans want to cut him.

Hall of Fame LT Joe Thomas retiring before they can trade him to a Super Bowl contender would be very Browns-y.
Joe doesn't owe us a God damned thing

If he retires then I'll appreciate the 11 hall of fame seasons as the best LT I've ever seen play football

Don't give me the draft pick nonsense. The guy is turning 33 and has been openly talking about retirement for years. We weren't getting a first round pick for him. Highly doubt we would've even gotten a late second. Joe can still produce at a high level but he's made several comments about retirement that make it pretty obvious he isn't planning on signing a third contract

Their coach commented after the game that they intend for Doctson to be their WR1. Not shocking, as they used a first on him last year.

Just remember...if Doctson had done as little as he's done on the Redskins in two years here, he'd be called the worst pick ever and we'd be ready to crucify him on the street. But WRs take time to develop. He's done less than Coleman through two years and been hurt even more, and yet he's improving and could be in line for a third-year breakout. I don't see any reason why Coleman couldn't be in the same place. He just needs to stay healthy.

There's no stuffing the genie back int he bottle. The Browns made their bed and now we're all forced to lie in.

To me it's not as important to dwell on the past picks as it would be to try to fix this thing.

The only thing this whole "Philly QB should have been on the Browns" meme proves to me is that the people running this thing are not good at their jobs. And yeah, you can argue back at me how good the FO apparently is at picking talent....but 4 wins in 3 years, is 4 wins in 3 years.

I'm not saying "FIRE THEM ALL" , but what I am saying is any justification for keeping them pretty much begins and ends with some sort of "continuity" argument. Not because they're GOOD, but because we've had so much turn over.

I see some bright spots do not get me wrong, but I'm not exactly seeing the types of guys who'd show up in commericals, on wheaties boxes or who's jersey's are being worn by some rando in utah.

especially after our FO didn't consider him a top 20 QB.
This is the part the front office deserves relentless criticism for

There was literally 0 reason to say this. It came off as unprofessional and now it makes them look like they can't identify talent. Just no reason at all for it

That I totally agree on. It was a dumb thing to say for any front office, regardless of whether they ended up being right or not.

When Haslam inevitably throws their asses out? That will be one of the comments I imagine he'll throw out there.

We can go into detail about why this team is the way it is. But ultimately it looks like you passed on a Pro Bowl/MVP type player while only being able to net 4 wins in the process.

People around the league are mocking the organization for it. It's why I'm not so much worried about the "firing everyone" thing because uh...people already think we're a fucking joke.

One last thought.

With all due respect? I don't know if I want any of these guys selecting a quarterback next year. Again, it's pretty damning.

Even IF Philly QB could have never succeeded here? To say that line is flat out dumb. I can accept someone going "Hey you know? He was a great prospect. Number 5 or whatever on our board. But the deal we got was too good to pass up on for a young team that we want to build in a certain way"

I mean it's a horseshit "Kick the can down the road/buy us time" line, but at least it speaks to their general competence.

It's not on us whether we knew this guy or others like him would have been good. But it sure as hell is on the team. They gambled and lost. There were a couple of boats they could have had (Zeke, Bosa, Philly QB)...but they opted to go for the Mystery Box.
