Well because of how bad OKC has looked, there's a big drop off in playoff competition between the 3rd and 4th seed in the West. It'd be one thing if GS was going to have to play San Antonio or OKC either way. Not much of a difference.
But it's quite another to be able to avoid San Antonio and instead play, say Portland or Denver in the 2nd round. Particularly when Kawhi still hasn't played. So if GOlden State gets San ANtonio in the 2nd round while Houston gets Portland? That's massive.
And then there's the outside shot that Golden State somehow pulls OKC in the 1st round if they finish 7th (I don't think the will).
